Hmmm. You didnt' say how deep the hole was. More to the point, if it's only 6 feet wide 6 men could not all work in the hole at the same time. They wouldn't have room to move let alone work a pick or shovel.

    The primordial 3

    PaulTon:

That's one big Puddy Tat. looks like a 385CL to me. 185474lbs, or 84130kg

Either way you weigh it, it still comes in at a whopping 92 1/3 metric Tonnes

Considering it comes with a 4 yard bucket, however will handle up to a 7 yard bucket, the hole is 8 yards of dirt, the actual digging would take about 30 seconds.

That is of course as stated ^

    Conservation impact study                                                                           $600.000.00

Dept. of Environment Protection, Permit application, review, site visit, 20 day posting in the local news paper, Immediate abutters notification, another 20 day waiting period for complaints, if none, PASS the DEP                                                             $136.000.00

Forward to conservation for EXACT same study, except, looking for 7 species of turtles, Piping Plovers, other endangered creepy crawlers as expressed above, if none, PASS

                                                                                               $900,000.00

Osha studying it, when they damn well get around to it. Throw it in the round file, PASS

                                                                                              $182,800.00

Traffic impact study, may have to widen 2 miles of existing road way to accommodate the traffic impact, 1 mile each direction.                                     $970,000.00

Send it out to bid, post in the Dodge reports, news papers    $650.00

Except lowest bid.   (EXACTLY LIKE THE SPACE SHUTTLE WAS BUILT, LOWEST BIDDER, YIKES!) No wonder it blew up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,TWICE!

Check winning bidders company for correct amount of minority workers.

Pay off officials because you don't.                                             $10,000.00

Better be union workers, or you won't get the machine on site through the picket line.

     Per diem, 3 men,                                                                         $1800.00

Machine of that magnitude can only be moved over the roads between 1:00am - 4:30am

machine is 3 days away. Moving and return to port fee.             $16,000.00

Coordinate date of dig with local officials. Wait 3 days beyond scheduled date for same to show up. @ $5000,00 per diem rate, Machine & workers              $20,400.00

Safety barriers on site, in place, and removal.                                 $ 2800.00

Trench permit from local city.                                                             $200.00

Trenching safety equipment, over 4 feet in depth, need trench box. $800.00 per day

Machine bucket won't fit inside anyway.                                                $800.00

    PPE personal protection equipment check

OSHA responsible person on site, filing papers on every day's activities, to OSHA in D.C.

DIG, Send man to package store for ten cases of beer for the day. Minimum 8 hour day for said machine size.

Stop! Coffey break, STOP! Hit water table. Lunch break, DIG!, STOP! Hit water main, DIG Safe failed to locate, 15 minute afternoon break. Rest of day stare into hole.

STOP!  Build coffer dam, hire pumps, evacuate water through hay bales, silt fence, to an acceptable area for water. Per day                                            $86,000.00

Repair water pipe, with water crew & materials.                          $18,000.00

Dewater hole completely, throw corpse in hole.

This is why we are doing all this , correct??  No Charge, flip coin, see who wins.

Pull dewatering devices, back fill at 2 foot compacted lifts of dirt.

    Done

Finish any left over beer. Go get more. Bullshyt 2 more hours, go home.

    TOTAL                                                                            $2,344,450.00 per day

This ain't my first rodeo boys, I did this around the world.

Well, that's just because of the amounts of "GREASE", to all the local politicians, from meter maids to the Governor, and everything in between.

Very little left for the machine

    No argument here Doc ;)

Now, you want to get cereal about this? Federal work is the literal Bomb. Take private estimates, triple them. Then double those, and you're in like Flynn

However, when you're dealing with > Never forgetting the ever present, "Family" donations.

"Sonny", "Big Lou", "Mickey Boy", "Tony Genius" ,"Lenny", "Little Nick", "Skinny Dom", "Tommy Sneakers", Carmine Sciandra, and the rest of NY's 20 families, you just "shut up and put up" until the work is done.

All about to be run by the "Clinton Syndicate"

    SSSSHHHHHHH!

You didn't here this from me, right, Goomba?
