And now, the drive is here

And so I face the my driving nightmare

My friend, I'll say it clear

I'll hit my drive, just on the fairway

    I've hit a drive that's full

    and missed the fairway

But more, much more than this

    wgt did it their way

    Regrets, I've had a few

But then again, too few to mention

I did what I had to do

And and flop it out into the fescue

    I play each charted course

Each careful shot on the fairway

And more, much more than this

    I tried it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew

When wgt said go screw you

But through it all, when there was doubt

I ate it up and spit it out

I faced it all and I fell short

    And did it my way

I've chipped, I've lflopped and cried

I've had my fill my share of losing

    And now,…

"My Way" was actually written for Sinatra by a Canuck...Paul Anka. Anka also wrote songs for Sammy Davis Jr and many of the other stars of that era...

I just wanted to point out that we don't just produce Justin Biebers...

Which was set to the music "Comme d'habitude" by Claude Francois. Things might have been very different - I was reading a David Bowie biography recently, and he also wrote lyrics to the same music which might have been used by Frank Sinatra! Here we go:

"David Bowie has said that in 1968 – the year before Paul Anka acquired the French song – his manager, Kenneth Pitt, asked him to write English lyrics for "Comme d'habitude" but that his version, titled "Even a Fool Learns to Love", was rejected. The unfinished work would later inspire his 1971 song "Life on Mars?", which uses the same chord progession.

Thanks Ada, you allowed me to get a Bowie post in! :)

lol Cheers for posting the lyrics up Paul. Not sure if Bowie ever recorded this - can't find a version with him singing, that's for sure. However, if it wasn't for the above, we would probably never have had Life On Mars?. Just love some of the lyrics on there:

    It's on America's tortured brow

That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow.

Now the workers have struck for fame

    'Cause Lennon's on sale again

from which we probably wouldn't have had Fame! Hell, I'm putting the video for that up too....love the Carlos Alomar guitar riff and how David chopped it up on the master tape:
