If someone tiers up to legend, plays one round at an easy course (let's say a 60)  and then plays 499 par 3 rounds; would they saturate at a 60 average?

    No.

Because the par 3 rounds don't affect saturation (avg)

Others seem to be saying that they count as ranked rounds in the 500 needed for saturation but aren't part of the average calculations. That's why I asked the question.

    Some rumours never die...

This wouldn't work Paul, as the calculation would be distored. In an average, the number of scores must correlate with their addition.

Yeah that's what I thought too Paul but worth making the point clear for others.

When it mattered to me I just didn't play them (unless in a CC tourny), I always assumed they had no effect on average (obviously) or ranked rounds in the 500.
