  THE CHRISTMAS CC CHALLENGE 2015

   

  Welcome all to the Christmas cc challenge 2015

   

  This is a league format playing each team once over 20 weeks up to Christmas  well just after anyway,

  This is the second year i have done this comp and im looking forward to the challenge of making this better than the last one

  
  

  The southern England links are the reigning champs and they will be very keen to retaining their crown,

  We have a few more teams in this one so lets hope it will a close comp but a fair one,

  
  

  i will post the first round later this week and  games will commence 

  saturday 8th august

   

  The points scoring will be the same as last time,

  Each match will be worth

  3 points=win , 1 point=draw ,0points=loss

  So if you win all your matches in one round total=24 points

  Every match will count towards your total.

  The matches wil be played over 18 holes on different courses using three

  Different formats

   

  Strokeplay,matchplay,stableford.

  There are ten different courses available to play

  I will post the course and format a couple of days before each match takes place,

  They will be all proper courses,no best of,

  All matches will be ranked or scored

   

  There wil be a handicap between tiers

  Matchplay

  Holes conceded will be on the par handicap

  TL=L 2 holes,TL=TM 4 holes

  L=TM 2 holes,L=M 4holes

  
  

  Strokeplay

  Strokes to be deducted from higher tiers at end

  TL =L 3 strokes,TL=TM 5 strokes

  L=TM 3strokes,L=M 5 strokes

  
  

  Stableford

  points to be deducted from higher tier at end

  TL=L 3 points,TL=TM 5 points

  L=TM 3points,L=M 5 point5

   

  Teams to be announced later maybe waiting for one more team

   

  Rules

  Each match will be played to a win,draw lose no sudden death(matchplay)

  Each match will have a 2 week timeline to complete

  Any matches not completed on time will be  deemed a draw,want to keep the comp moving on,

  Any players refusing to play will forfeit their match,

  Any gimmies must be agreed by both players before start(matchplay

  hello all

   

  we have our 12 teams,as you can see a few clubs have more than one but i think it will interesting to play each other and there will be no quarter given i can assure you,we will  be out to whitewash the rams lol.

  hello all

  right lets get cracking with the first round,gonna be an interesting few months ahead,

  this round will start sat 8th august and all games must be completed by  22nd august,

  remember to contact your captain if you are having problems

   

  round 1

  we will start at the home of golf 

  matchplay 18 holes st andrews

  rules

  there will be no gimmies unless agreed by your opponent,

  if level after 18 it will be classed as a draw

  any player with a -2 by their name must concede holes 5 and 14

  any player with a -4 by their name must concede holes 5,7,12 and 14

  thats about it we are all adults so lets play hard but fair

  hello all

  just found a player has champ

  spoke to him and nothing has change

  ie greens,wind,tees

  so as far as i am concerned he is a TL and that will be the same for anyone

  else who may turn champ during the comp(certainly not me lol)

  this is my desicion on this matter

  hi all

  lennoxtown2002 derbyram wins 2&1 v Gill1954 ELGC

  front 9- Gill started better and was 2up through 4, then led at the turn 1up.

  back 9- all me as Gill lost concentration, birdies 10 through 15 put me dormie on the 16th tee and although Gill got one back the damage was done.

  have any matches been played yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  im on everyday having a look to see if any results have been posted,got to be a couple played by now

  its a quiet start to the comp,very quiet

  I have been asked when the next round will begin and this round finish,

  Just to make it clear to everyone.

  
  

  Each round will begin on a Saturday and finish on a Saturday,

  I will post each round late Friday night to begin anytime Saturday.

  
  

  Each round will end midnight on a Saturday two weeks later

  So each round will cross over by one day which should not make that

  Much difference really and want to keep the two weekends to give players time

  To play.
