    30 August ... more belated BDays ...

    Cameron Diaz is now 42.  And one of the richest men in the world ... Warren Buffett is 84.  And some of you may remember Hazel ... actress Shirley Booth (1898) was born on the 30th.  Also this guy ... he played Steve Douglas in the TV series, "My Three Sons".  Actor Fred MacMurray (1908) was also born on the 30th.

    And this country singer was born on the 30th as well ... Kitty Wells (1919) ...

    I just love this comedian ... Lewis Black is now 66. 

    and that does it for the 30th ... stay tuned for 31 August!

    My belated picks for 31 August ...

    Comedian and Actor Chris Tucker is now 42.  Actor Richard Gere celebrated his 65th, and "Our Man Flint" ... actor James Coburn (1928) was born on the 31st.  Actor Buddy Hackett (1924), who I loved in "The Music Man" was also born on the 31st.

    MLB Baseball fans ... Frank Robinson celebrated his 79th on Sunday.  He was the first player ever to receive the MVP in both the American and National leagues. 

    Van Morrison celebrated his 69th on Sunday ...

    and violinist Itzhak Perlman is 69 ... while you may not know the name, you're sure to recognize the tune ...

    It musta been Labor Day  ... real slim pickins for the 1st ...

    Dr. Phil McGraw is 64 ... and the boxer Rocky Marciano (1923) was born on the 1st.  Comedian actress Lily Tomlin is now 75.  And the actor who played Buz Murdock in that popular TV series "Route 66" ... George Maharis turned 86.

    Singer Gloria Estefan is 57 today ...

    And Country Western sensation (back in the day of helmet hair) ... Conway Twitty (1933) was born on the 1st ...

    So ... all caught up ... nothing like laborin' after labor day!

    Freddie Mercury (1946 - 1991) was the lead singer for the band, Queen.  Here's one of my favorite (not played in sports games) Queen tune ...
