Just played a Ready Go on the back 9 of Kiawah....was hitting an approach to the 12th green. Sitting in the middle of the fairway i was 189 yards out with 3mph wind facing the 8.30pm position. Wanting to land a little short and run up to the pin I hit it a full 5 iron 185 yrds a mm right of the ding to compensate for the wind.
The result was that the ball landed on the far right hand side just off the green 25 yrds short of the pin.
On a few other holes there were obvious false wind readings too.
The other 2 RG's I played tonight the meter f*cked me for a few 4 foot birdie putts too.
I'm fastly losing confidence in RG's now because off these errors that are beyond my control.
Most likely I'll just stop playing them from now on....would seem no point if I can't rely on the stats I'm shown.
