COUNTRY CLUB TOURNAMENTS
WORLD GOLF TOUR ("WGT") may sponsor and give you as an "Organizer" the opportunity to set up certain in-game skill based tournaments ("Tournaments").
Organizers may invite individuals from their WGT-based Country Club to participate in a Tournament, but only individuals meeting the eligibility requirements below may actually enter a Tournament and earn WGT Credits in a Tournament ("Entrant(s)").
Eligibility Requirements: Tournaments are open to individual Organizers and Entrants who are 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in the entrant's state or province/territory of residence, whichever is greater.
WGT at its sole discretion may limit the number of Entrants who may enter a Tournament.
To set up a Tournament as an Organizer or to participate in a Tournament as an Entrant, you must be a resident of
(a) the United States but excluding residents of: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, or Washington, or be subject to the laws of one of those states; or
(b) any other jurisdiction that WGT excludes in its sole discretion.
Residents of Brazil, Argentina, the People's Republic of China, South Korea, and Japan are also excluded and cannot be an Organizer or an Entrant.
Employees, officers, and directors of WGT and its affiliated entities, parent, subsidiaries, advertising, promotional agencies, legal advisors, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to be an Organizer or enter participate as an Entrant in Tournament.
Void where restricted, taxed, or prohibited by law.
The odds of earning WGT Credits in a Tournament depend on the Entrant's relative skill in the Tournament.
To set up a Tournament as the Organizer, the Organizer must have a valid registered World Golf Tour account (free), be a member of a WGT-based Country Club, and select the available variables for the Tournament as specified in the game (such as, stroke play or closest to the hole, number of holes, play limits, Free-to-play or Pay-to-play, Contest Period or Tournament duration, Tournament conditions and WGT Credit allocation options).
In order to enter and earn credits from the Tournaments, the Entrant must have a valid registered World Golf Tour account (free) and enter the Tournament in the indicated time frame (schedule).
To enter this Tournament:
- Step One. Have a valid registered World Golf Tour account (free); and
- Step Two. Register for the Tournament.
Obtain and Apply Credits to register for the Tournament if the Tournament is Pay-to-play*.
If the Tournament is Free-to-play, Entrants do not have to apply Credits to register for the Tournament.
*The required WGT Credits for entering a Pay-to-play Tournament as an Entrant will be deducted from your World Golf Tour account.
If you do not have the amount of credits in your World Golf Tour account that is required, you will not be eligible to register or enter the Tournament.
To obtain Credits:
- Obtain credits through gameplay on the World Golf Tour site; or
- Purchase credits on the World Golf Tour site by credit card or other financial instrument
Individual Entrants that earn WGT Credits in each Tournament will be posted on the Site upon completion of the Tournament.
If the WGT Country Club Tournaments are stroke play contests, the Entrants will be given either one (1) round of eighteen or nine holes throughout the golf course or an unlimited number of rounds to be played during the Tournament duration, and are challenged to get the ball into the cup for each hole in the fewest strokes.
The number of stokes taken to get the ball into each cup, plus any penalties, will be recorded for each entrant, and comprise the entrant's final score.
Entrants may play the Game only once during the Contest Period.
The lowest scoring entrant will be a potential winner (subject to the provision below in the event of a tie between two or more entrants, and subject to meeting eligibility and all other requirements in these Official Rules).
In the event of a tie of a stroke play contest, the better scoring entrant between or among the tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final nine (9) holes of the Game.
If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final six (6) holes for such Game.
If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final three (3) holes for such Game.
If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest score for the 18th hole (9th for nine hole games) in such Game, and any remaining ties will be determined by identifying the lowest scoring entrant for each individual game hole, in sequence from 17th (8th for nine hole games) through to 1st, as is necessary to determine a winner, and if any ties remain at that point, the earlier-submitted entry between or among the tied entries will be deemed the better scoring entry.
If multiple people tie for a place other than first for a stroke play contest, the percentages for those places will be added up and divided by the number of people who tied for the place.
For example, if three people tie for 2nd place, the percentages for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will be totaled up and divided by three.
Each player would receive the same amount.
5th place will then get the correct 5th place percentage.
If the WGT Country Club Tournaments are closest to the hole contests, then the Entrant will be able to play an unlimited number of rounds during the Tournament timeframe.
The tie-breaker rules will first look at the total scores of all Entrants.
If there are still ties then the scores for the last hole played will be compared with the lowest score being the winning score.
If there are still ties the holes will be reviewed in sequence from the 8th hole through the first as is necessary.
If any ties remain at that point, the earlier-submitted entry between the tied entries will be deemed the best scoring entry.
By entering the Tournament, Organizer and Entrant accept and agree to abide by and be bound by the terms of these Official Rules, and to assume sole liability and accept all risk of loss for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Tournament or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use or misuse of, or travel to or from or in connection with the Tournament or any prize awarded.
Sponsor has the right to cancel, terminate or modify this Tournament for any reason, including if it cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures and to select winner from eligible entries received on or before the termination date.
Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error.
By setting up or entering this Tournament, you grant to Sponsor a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, right and royalty-free license to use your entry details (if you are an Entrant), and, except where prohibited by law, your first and/or last name, city and state/province of residence, photo(s), voice and/or likeness; in any and all media but solely in connection with this Tournament.
By setting up or entering this Tournament, you represent, warrant and agree (a) that Sponsor has the right to exploit and utilize your first and/or last name, city and state/province of residence, photo(s) of you or that you submit, voice and/or likeness in any and all media but solely in connection with this Tournament without any further attribution, notification or compensation to you, except where prohibited; (b) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges; and (c) to be contacted by Sponsor or its agents by telephone, mail or email regarding this Tournament.
By setting up or entering the Tournament, you release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the directors, officers, employees or agents of each from any and all liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light) arising out of or in connection with the Tournament, the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, or arising out of or in connection with any travel to or from any Tournament or prize related activity.
Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Tournament but in no event attorneys' fees; and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
In the event that any provision of these Official Rules shall be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law or be so held by applicable court decision, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render these Official Rules unenforceable or invalid as a whole, and, in such event, such provision shall be changed and interpreted so as to best accomplish the objectives of such unenforceable or invalid provision within the limits of applicable law or applicable court decisions.
