I have encountered this problem once and saw others with the same problem. If the ball lands in the brown material at the foot of some trees, it is impossible to get out of there and you have to exit the game. Is this a bug or do I need a tip here...
I've had that problem too. I find, and others have reported in here, that a punch shot about 3/4 force will get you out. Maybe not close to the hole, but a bad shot must be punished. Try hitting in mulch in a practice round and see what works best.
