I've often thought about this but have never asked anyone. It has to do with the apparel in the coin rooms and specifically the ones that boost iron spin. Let's say I have a set of irons with a 4.5 spin factor using balls that have a 4.5 distance and 4.5 spin ratings. I slap on apparel that gives me a +80 iron spin boost. Has anyone actually been able to quantify what this does to the spin on the ball? I've tried using it before and it just caused my shots to vary so much that it wasn't worth using.
Some of the apparel boosts such as for distance are plain to see what the effects are but many of the boosts are vague as to what the shot outcome is going be. Putting forgiveness?? Iron sweet spot?? Many more like this.
Any thoughts please let me know.
