    YankeeJim:
Now you know what the extra 1/2 dot in spin gets you. FWIW, I don't see a huge difference in the lower clubs, just the 3 4 and 5.

I definitely agree, I rented them this morning and ran through about 8 RG's with them...

One shot I recall was on the first par 3 at RSG, 17 mph at my back, 3 iron checked up to 6 feet of the hole...full BS with WGT Legend ball.

There were others too, downwind, that were very controllable.

What I also found very useful was not only the extra 5 yards on the 3iron, but the 120 PW vs the 125 wedge the Burners have.

Definitely will buy these when I get my credit account back up.

Oh, and definitely saw an improvement on forgiveness as well, shots that I was missing with the wind, I'd go "Grrrrrrrrr", but the ball didn't go near as far offline as it would have with the Burners.

Tomorrows rental will be the level 92 putter.

The Callaway spinner but that spin is used judiciously, depending on the situation. I use 1/2 back spin a lot to temper the distance of the roll out. Wind in your face is not the beast it used to be from 200+ in. You find the ability to manipulate the landing and roll on long shots.

Jim, I wanted to agree with you on this subject. I was just playing #7 on RSG. I had 235 to the pin with a 16 mph wind in my back. I used the 2 iron (225 distance) will full backspin. Like you I use the Callaway (s). The roll landing and roll out was easy to control and I rolled with 6 feet of the pin for an easy Eagle. After that I bought them. LOL

Another good thing about the R11 irons is that you can drop down a club and add topspin and have a get quite close to the pin as well. I am using the Srixon spin ball. And it seems that the misses with added top spin are a lot closer to you intended target than with backspin.

Good point, Sting, and there's a reason for it. Topspin gets the ball on the ground quicker so the wind influences it less. Backspin keeps the ball in the air long enough for the wind to play games with it and throw in a little deviation for the missed hit and you get some pretty wild results. Dropping down a club and playing up to the hole instead of trying to force a "stick" is good course management.

I spent yesterday with the Level 92 putter, I wasn't impressed.  I did like the 25 and 50 foot scales, vs the 30 and 60 on my Rossa, but I don't see the need to upgrade for it.

I'd bet maybe some of the real good putters here, guys/gals with 1.4 putting averages might be able to tell a difference..I dunno.

For me, the R11's are good for maybe one or 2 strokes here and there..definitely worth it (if you are a RG addict like me), but I don't feel the putter is much of a game changer (for my abilities anyway).

You have to ding it to appreciate it. This may be why the meter is so much slower but if you don't ding it, forget it. Don't even think about missing to aim with this one.

Thanks for the thoughts on some of the upper level clubs, legends.  I appreciate the help.

If anyone has any other thoughts, that'd be great.  I'm just running out of time here and it looks like I'm not going to make it on every club.  Help on finishing this database would be great, especially with all the distances for the L79 Burners and L90 R11s (I'm planning on buying the i15s in a couple days so i'll be good there).  I'd also really appreciate any other thoughts on any clubs that aren't reviewed.

    Thanks!

Thanks for those.  I'll add them to my database.  I don't want to be a pain, but if it's not a big deal I would appreciate all the distances for each club.

One other question, how do you flop the PW? I didn't get that option on any of the irons I tested.  Is that feature only available on the higher level clubs?

You can't, my error. I had 4 wedges equipped and wasn't paying attention. You can't flop the set wedge. I edited the post above.

LOL-Not nearly the pain you're going through. Nice work.  :-)
