There needs to be a save game and come back later on single player only. I was needing to get off but couldn't due to no save game like there is on the flash version.

As long as it wasn't a practise game it will be automatically saved when you close the app, and you will get a Forfeit / Resume option when you relaunch the app...
What do you mean when you close the app? I am on PCEA.
App is just short for application which is another term for a program. i.e., the PCEA game.
Close it with ALT + F4...and when you open it later you will have "resume" :)
