Technically, I have not started and completed a community tournament by myself. So while I have lots of ideas, big and small, I'm going to host a quick tourney to get my feet wet. The Gao Annual Four-Day Event will, as you might assume, last four days, from Tuesday, October 27 to Friday, October 30. (see time zone converter here)

October 30 UPDATE: It's over! It's over! Kobalt46 has won the Gao Event 2009 title! Here are the final standings:

    (1) Kobalt46 ... 6 points

    (2) JTxpress ... 5

    (3) phrasmotic ... 3

    (4) edchavez ... 2

    (5) BolloxInBruges ... 0

    (6) VEGANG1228 ... 0

    (7) MyNadsItch ... -1

    (8) ThunderBoltz ... -1

    (9) wilducrest ... -6

Thanks so very much for playing! I am much appreciative to the eight people who took time out of their daily lives to find a way to play their matches, and I thank you for trusting me and sticking with me, despite the tough deadlines. I hope to see you in my future tournaments, and around WGT as well! Thank you once again.

The person with the most points by the end of matches on Friday is ... USA's Kobalt46! He isdeclared the winner of The Gao Annual Four-Day Event 2009 and will receive his champion's trophy at some point this coming weekend!

    1. Kobalt46 (USA) - 3-0

    2. JTxpress (USA) - 2-1

    3. phrasmotic (GER) - 2-1

Not utilizing the 7pm to 12pm EST time slot hurts.

The problem is that I need time to make pairings and inform everyone before I go to bed. I can extend the time period to 8:30 PM EST but unfortunately that's the absolute latest I can go. Sorry to do this but that's just the way this tourney will have to work. I'm sure my other tournies will utilize this important time period. Sorry to do this for this one though!
