I got slaughtered he shot a 61 and I cant even bring myself to say my score.
Had huge problems with the meter on a couple of holes on the front 9 and was basically screwed from there with a -10 at the turn after a triple and quadruple bogey one after the other. However that should not take away from his brilliant golf he would have won never the less.
Held my own better on the back 9 sunk some good putts and he reeled of 6 birdies on the trot even though I managed 4 in a row too but the damage was already done . Playing a champion is great for picking up tips but oh my those championship greens are a killer.
We both have the same first name so that made chatting good fun as you can imagine "VNB Robert - U2 Robert" etc.
Great guy who offered me some sound advice on my putting which helped me stop the rot on the back 9.
I was beaten by a superior player who was very gracious and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
