I think a lot of people will be emigrating to the UK if that happens!

Sarge...Do you have a spare room I can rent..?  :o)

Yep! But if you want it you'll have to buy me the R11 driver...

How long b4 they get around to this site??????

The gist of the move was to address the money laundering. Money going in was reported as sales of flowers and other stuff.

A caller to the local morning radio show commented about having deposited $1000 into his account at one of these sites, lost it playing but still sees the amount in his local bank. It hasn't been taken out and he's wondering about closing the bank account and getting the $ .  Interesting situation.

I think the Govt's biggest issue is that they can't tax these offshore companies like they tax the brick and mortar casinos..

I took most of my $ out of Pokerstars last year...That's the good news...The bad news is that I only have $47 left in my acct and I think $50 is the smallest check which Pstars will mail out..

Methinks I need a PO box in the UK..

YJ this is still on line gambling no matter how you slice it.

Whether or not this is online gambling is another discussion. I'm pretty sure WGT is on the up and up, not trying to launder copious amounts of cash like the shut down sites were.

Doesn't look to me like they are going after anything but illegal gambling

I know at least one of these sites is still up and running for play money transactions, and has shut down the real money side of the game. Seems to me there was a discussion about just this topic a while back. Also seems to me that the purchase of game credits and the wagering of these credits could be a potential problem for WGT, especially now that minors are allowed. The biggest thing on their side is the fact that there is no cash payout, which separates them from the likes of these poker sites. The fact that purchases can be made with these purchased credits also means they maintain a cash value, even if only for virtual equipment. Can't imagine what the lawyers fees are gonna be, but I'm glad it isn't going on my Visa.......

Golf, like poker, remains a game of skill and not chance...

Regardless of the definition, minors are now thrown into this mix, which should throw up lots of red flags......I am quite sure that none of those Poker skill based wagering sites allowed minors to make wagers, without having a CYA policy of checks in place.
