i'm really hitting a wall here and i'm sick of giving back 2 strokes on a perfectly good round. I know below the hole is the best bet but even that is suspect.

from my notebook & forum notes:

    Par: 4

    check for fade drive

My ATTEMPT: shot hit a little softer to end up 'under the hole' went the distance but side putts suffer the heavy cant, maybe hit even softer and keep the line, cross wind L2R did blow ball hole right.

    >>  forum " Make sure you not go long, it not an  easy putt from back of hole." " If I play shot with no backspin I find that it a good plan to play shorter than the distance WGT say it are"

FORUM:  ???  the best option I have found is to keep the approach below the hole for an uphill putt. I would rather be 15ft below than 3ft above the hole but remember to add a bit to the uphill putt because anything too short will simply roll back down to you!

    18th green at Cabo

Lately I shoot 5 yds short and to the right of the hole. This way the ball path crosses below the hole and chances are good for a straight(!) 15 ft uphill putt plus a tap-in for Par.

Hit your tee shot into the hard sand (dark coloured) on the right.... then you have a straight shot too the hole. The only thing doing that is if you get into the soft sand,  you're in trouble.

    p.s. I haven't played it a lot, and I haven't been there in a while FWIW

Thanks to the original authors of any of the suggestions.

I play (if at all possible) into the hard sand (not the sandy sand). Doesn't have a huge impact on your shot, and you're coming at the hole from a fairly straighter (per the green slope) angle.

Here's how I play it. Skip to the end. The video is Cabo Back 9.

You can specify a start time for your video Jay by adding a parameter to the video URL...

    ?start=[desired start time in seconds]

eg   ?start=300    will start playing the video 5 minutes (300 seconds) from the beginning.

    So your regular video URL....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRA5-UU9Mxc

    becomes...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRA5-UU9Mxc?start=300

Then you use that modified URL to post your video to the forum in the usual way.

Or.....if you have already posted the video, in which case you will have this text in your post...

    [‍View:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRA5-UU9Mxc:500:0]

You can edit it to add in the start time...

    [‍View:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRA5-UU9Mxc?start=300:500:0]

    Voilà!.....

(Wish I could score like that)  : (

Wish I could figure out those instructions :-(

If I'm reading correctly, I simply put ?start=(and whatever time I want the vid to start) at the end of the url itself.

I'd rather be able to figure computer stuff out than be good at a game. But, I guess if I could figure computer stuff out, I just might get to where I'm "too good" (wink, wink).

Yes, but put the time in seconds.  i.e.To start at 1 min 30 seconds into the video put

?start=(90) at the end of the url

But don't put the number of seconds in parentheses.  ; )

I just played it on Champ 14s and tried something different when left just off position with the approach...I played it purely for par.I wasn't directly under the hole so basically hit the 1st putt 7 ft away just so it doesn't roll back 17 ft and instead rolled back only 4.5 ft with slight R-L..
