It's pretty windy around here.  When your choice is to either learn how to hit a 1I or die, you learn to hit a 1I.

As wings and golf courses go I would say that Vancouver is one of the not windy areas, try playing on the coast.

It is windier right on the coast than it is 50 kms inland, I agree.  However, my two most-played courses are both links-style, so I'm usually more exposed to the elements than I would be on more tree-lined courses.

Tarheels... you must be referring to Pebble Beach, for one.  Maybe the par 3 7th, into the wind.

And Yankee Jim seems to be absent tonight.  I wonder what game he's watching on TV.

    Hehe-every last pitch....and you're wrong about the 1i.

When golfing in a thunderstorm all you have to do to keep from getting hit by lightning is to hold up your 1 iron-even God can't hit a 1 iron!

I believe a lot of golfers could learn how to hit a 1I if they wanted to.  Why would they want to, you ask?  Well, aside from being more versatile than a 4W or 5W, there's the fact that 1Is are total chick magnets.  Good 'nuff for me.
