    Knowledge

Always there is more to be known. Every day brings the potential for new discovery.

Each time knowledge is shared, it increases. No limit exists on the ideas that spring from previous ideas, from difficult situations, from desired outcomes.

You live in a physical, biological, economic world that is subject to hard and fast limitations. Yet within those limitations, information, knowledge, and ideas can lead to near-miraculous positive results.

Knowledge can prolong life, ease misery, tame violence, quench thirst, and bring endless possibilities. Time and time again, innovative ideas have enabled people to solve the most difficult of difficult problems.

There is a very real road to your goal, an accessible and workable way through your challenges. Knowledge will illuminate that way, and provide you the tools to build that road.

Next month, next year, can be a vast improvement over right now, when your actions are leveraged by knowledge. Watch, read, listen, learn, apply what you know, and keep the power of knowledge always working for you.

    Choose your courage

You’re not sure what will happen today, or tomorrow. Even so, you can step forward and live with courage.

You can make the best plans and preparations, and work with persistent effort. Yet you know there are rarely any guarantees.

Challenges are great, risks are many, and uncertainties abound. Nonetheless, you can move ahead with courage.

Courage is not a matter of being certain about what will happen. Courage is not the absence of fear.

Courage is knowing that you can enact a positive response to whatever happens. Courage is being realistic about your prospects, listening to your fears, and taking well-informed action.

Courage is already within you, and always yours to choose. Feel your purpose, choose your courage, and transform the challenges into achievements.

    Meaningful positive difference

Set a small goal, and achieve it. Then immediately set another small goal, and achieve that.

Occasionally you’ll have the opportunity to make big, sudden improvements. Yet always, in every moment, you are able to make small improvements.

There’s great power in doing so. Because those small improvements add to each other, and build on one another.

The long and inexorable march of progress is not, by and large, a history of quick advances. It is a story of small improvements, and improvements on the improvements, made again and again.

Today you can continue that beneficial story. Right now, several small improvements await your attention, your action.

You don’t have to wait one more moment for the chance to make a meaningful positive difference. Where you are, with what you have, make a small improvement, and set the process in motion.

    Steady diet of challenge

If your skills are not being challenged, they are not being maintained. Just as muscles atrophy from non-use, so do your abilities recede when they are not regularly exercised.

You’ve put much effort into developing those abilities. Make sure they remain strong, vibrant, and relevant by challenging yourself to put them to good use.

It’s tempting to coast for a while, and live with minimal effort off the success you’ve already achieved. Yet the day will come when you’ll need your full strength, and you’ll encounter great regret if you let that strength grow soft.

At some point you’re sure to meet up with a challenge you cannot avoid. The more experience you have at handling challenges, the better your outcome will be.

Plus, a steady diet of challenge keeps your life interesting and your purpose clear. And when you proactively choose your troubles, you distance yourself from those more troubling troubles that might otherwise choose you.

Provide yourself with a continuing supply of meaningful challenges to embrace. Stay strong while making a positive difference in your own life and in the lives of others.

    Tangible results

Don’t merely collect knowledge and skills. Put them to practical use.

Don’t just spend all your time and energy amassing a large set of tools. Do meaningful, beneficial work with those tools.

It’s great to have skills, capabilities, resources, and connections. But it would be a terrible shame not to deploy them in the service of a worthwhile goal.

Yes, prepare yourself well, align yourself to achieve. Then follow through with the achievement.

Admit to yourself, and to the world, what you care about, what matters to you. Put your love and caring into action, and transform it all into tangible results.

Utilize the potential of all your other skills with the skill of being purposeful. Discover what a great difference you can make, and make it.

    Do more

Do more of what gets you to think. Do more of what motivates you to act.

Do less of what leaves you sluggish. Do less of what wastes your time.

Find people and places that inspire you to imagine. Seek circumstances that fill you with energy and enthusiasm.

Life’s richness is here and now, ready for you to live it in your own unique way. Let the possibilities fill you with excitement, and push you into action.

Do more of what you know is right, and good, helpful, truthful, and fulfilling. Do more of the things that make you thrilled to wake up every morning.

No matter what you’ve done, or what you’ve neglected, now things are different. This is your chance to do more.

    Push past despair

You are not perfect, yet you can move your world in a positive direction. Whatever happens, you can offer new positive energy to life.

You get angry, frustrated, disappointed, but you don’t have to perpetuate those negative emotions. You can transform their power into beneficial action, into determination and commitment.

As difficult and frightening as life can sometimes be, you are fully able to push past the despair. Reach deep inside, connect with what you know to be good and right, true and helpful.

Many circumstances are beyond your influence. Even so, you can be a positive force for the people and situations around you, and that’s not nothing.

Indeed, improvement in the world never comes from grand schemes or forceful decrees. It comes from people who choose, again and again, to follow their best possibilities.

You are always able to make that choice. Push past anger, past judgment, past despair, and push life in a more positive direction.

    Build on what works

The way to change what’s wrong is not by destroying what’s right. The way to lift up those who suffer is not by cutting down those who prosper.

To change what doesn’t work, build on what does work. To create new, more widespread success, expand on existing success.

If you dwell solely on the problems, you’ll end up making those problems bigger. Look instead at what has been proven by experience to add richness to life.

Whatever you focus on, expands. Identify what improves life, what you treasure, value, appreciate, and focus on making more of that.

In your own life, in your community, in the world, there is vast potential for improvement, innovation, fulfillment. Harness that potential by building on what’s good, on what works.

Choose now to benefit from your own experience, and the hard-won experience of all who have come before you. With hope, with enthusiasm, with generosity and compassion, build on what works.

    Put care into action

Giving your care, your attention, your respect, your love, makes life richer. Giving your time, your consideration, your effort, your presence, makes the world brighter.

The things you accumulate are sometimes necessary, often times not. The connections you make are what you will come to cherish most deeply.

You have the opportunity to go beyond merely saying or signaling that you care. Put your care into action, into commitment, where the passing of time transforms it into great value.

You are not going to save the whole world. Yet you can make a big difference in an important part of it, someone’s life, again and again.

Resist the urge to be drawn into trendy, sanctimonious, empty expressions. Invest your time and energy instead in authentic connection and care.

You can quietly, gracefully make a difference when you put your care into helpful action. Each time you do, life gets a little better for you and all those around you.

    Beyond limitations

Don’t ignore your limitations. Understand them, learn from them, and you’ll find ways to get around them.

The force of gravity is a serious limitation when attempting to launch a rocket into orbit. Yet by precisely understanding how gravity works, scientists and engineers can build a rocket that will successfully reach outer space.

It’s tempting to just complain about your limitations, or see them as excuses for lowering your expectations. But you always have a better choice.

That choice is to learn, to understand, to innovate, to adapt. Within whatever is holding you back are very specific truths and strategies for moving forward.

Limitations abound with useful facts, some already known, others waiting to be discovered. As you learn and apply those facts, the limitations lose their power to limit you.

Look to your limitations for knowledge, strategies, and inspiration. And engage your miraculous ingenuity to get beyond whatever holds you back.
