There is another factor to consider with wedges too. The actual degree of the club affects how it acts in flight and on landing. With the G10s I can carry 52, 54, 60 and 64 degree wedges with full shot coverages of 105,98,77,60. Punches, flops, chips and pitches fill in the spaces but the key is not as much the rated distance as it is the way the ball acts when you spin it. If I need to carry a fairway wood I can switch the 52 degree wedge out for it and not get hurt by the gap difference between the set PW (115) and the 54 degree wedge (98.)
Something else to consider is how you can actually play to the strength of your best wedge game. Instead of worrying abut gaps in coverage play to the spot on the approach where you can really score with that favorite wedge.
