To my fellow WGT golfers, I ask a favor.

One of our club members in "A Band of Brothers", is a volunteer firefighter in Wickenburg, AZ.  AzGuide is ok, but he lost several good friends in the Yarnell Hill fire.

I ask you to use this avatar, in memorial to the 19 heroes, that lost their lives trying to protect others!

Thank you, If you want to display this avatar, right click, above avatar, save image as, my pictures,  then upload to profile!

It was the most USA firefighters lost in one battle, since 9-11-01. These brave men were called "Hot Shots", which in the firefighting community is equivalent, to Navy SEALS, or Army Special Forces. True tragedy!

I Lost 3 friends in April, 1984. Responding to a brush fire and rolled the engine. Still miss them after all these years.  God Bless.

It's truly awful to hear about tragedies like these. It takes a special type of person to go out there and risk their lives to save others and often enough they are just protecting the land and preventing any further tragedies. The hard work these fine citizens do each and every year is unprecedented. It's a real shame to lose so many and  it's impossible to put yourself in a position to fully comprehend the loss to our society. I know around where I'm from, the wildland firefighters are treated like heroes and get lots of attention every time you see them in town. Always heartfelt hearing about a fallen hero.
