Merion Golf Club is one of America's top ranked and historical golf courses, and now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

The par-4 Hole 6 at Merion challenges you with a semi-blind tee shot to a bowl-shaped fairway. Most players will face a slightly uphill approach shot to the green with a false front, with the option to go "old school" and run their shot up onto the green. Another hole where par is a great success.

We're two weeks into the 2013 Virtual U.S. Open Qualifier on World Golf Tour and are seeing some great virtual golf being played.

There are already more than 100,000 players entered and competing on Merion Golf Club, the host of this year's U.S. Open Championship.

The top 156 scores plus ties will make the cut to qualify for the Championship rounds, but everyone has a chance to not only play all 18 challenging holes at Merion, but also a chance to win the grand prize trip to next year's U.S. Open.

Merion Golf Club is the host of the 2013 U.S. Open Championship, and is now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

Hole 5 at Merion could be the best driving hole on the course. This par-4 doglegs from right to left, with the fairway also sloping from right to left toward a stream that borders the left side spanning the entire length of the hole. Don't leave your approach right of the hole, or you'll face incredibly fast putts on the most severely sloped green on the course. Par this one and you're likely to pick up a full stroke (or close to) on your competition.

Merion Golf Club is hosting the 2013 U.S. Open Championship, and is now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

Hole 4 at Merion is the second par-5 on the golf course. Off the tee, players will face one of the more difficult drive zones to hit because of a significant right-to-left fairway slope. This is followed by an awkward, blind shot over the cross bunker. Most players will have to lay-up before the brook in front of the green, for a short approach shot to the green.

Hole 3 at Merion is a difficult par 3, thanks to its receptive yet challenging green. Don't miss the green to the left as you will have a hard time getting your chip close with the sloping green to the front right. This hole also features one of the deepest bunkers on the golf course, at the front right of the green.

Hole 2 at Merion offers a clear choice to play either more conservatively or more aggressively off the tee on this challenging par 5. Precise shots are key, as bunkers, deep rough and out-of-bounds can turn a potential eagle or birdie into a bogey or worse. However, if you can reach the green, you're looking at a relatively flat putting surface to finish.
