hack amateur pro master what are the averages?

  IMHO, it's no good to concentrate on the numbers. This is a game, a leisure, supposed to provide fun - concentrate on that and the scores will come by themselves.

  OTOH, it's important to raise the level with XPs to be able to buy equipment when it's due (usually at Master tier).

  You are playing almost all Starter equipment (the 3WD is missing, though) and Starter balls, so there's no commercial burden. Play along, check out the courses, meet friends, enjoy the views - to me, that's more fun than chasing numbers...

  Thanks Alosso. I just noticed today that I was missing the 3wd, so I added it. Also just bought the spider putter. I have been playing for the fun, but it's nice to get advice on how to improve. I'd play more socially ie: tournies and leagues, but being on call at all times makes it nearly impossible. Some 18 hole rounds take me 4 or 5 hours to finish.

  Hi. Just advanced to Tour Master, and have played some 6-7 games after that. The strange thing is that before my last round (18) today, may HCP was 66,86. Then, I went one under par, and my HCP went UP to 67,55??? Should it not have dropped, or at least not altered?

  It's an average not a handicap and actual scores are relevant to it not what you are under par.  An average of 66.86 would go up with a score of 71.

  Before your last round I counted 11 and 743 strokes giving an average of 67.55.  Last score was a 71 changing it to 67.83.

  Ok, I kind of understand that it will fluctuate some before 50 rounds, But I just cannot for my bare life understand the following: I hva been under par for 5 rounds now. Going steadaly down from 67,68 to 67,62 to 67,45 and down to 67,39. The last round I scored 4 under par, but still ended up at 67,42. How on earth can an average go up when I score low? Was it because I scored 4 under par in the previous round (9 holes), and then 4 under par in my last round that was 18 holes?

  "4 under" does not equal "4 under" - use full scores and think!

  You played 32, 33, 68, entering the average calc. as 64, 66, 68.

  How would a 68 score alter an ordinary 67.39 average? Raise or drop?

  Three guesses each! ;)

  Your average is easy to work out as all your TM scores are on your history.  Last time I replied you'd played 12 rounds and had 814 strokes making up an average of 67.83, you've since played another 12 and in 804 strokes.

  24 rounds in 1618 strokes gives an average of (67.41666) 67.42.  All you have to do is add your score(s) to the total, remembering to double for 9 holes, and divide by the number of rounds.  So if you next score is 31; 1,618 + 62 = 1,680 / 25 = 67.20.
