Being from scotland who have not qualified my favourite team back home has players from USA and Japan kicking the ball about so they are my two teams .

These Japanese people are so tidy .

Not just picked up all their mess behind the goal in black bags but the team left the dressing room immaculate .

Belgium beat Canada 1-0 yesterday. Not too bad actually, as Belgium is ranked world #2 and Canada is #41.

Been a good tournament thus far, with a couple of very surprising upsets.

Canada could of, should of won that game as they outplayed and out chanced Belgium by a wide margin in the first half.

Argentine football (soccer) star Diego Maradona—who was considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, known for such memorable plays as the “Hand of God” goal in the 1986 World Cup—died at age 60..

In 2016, 12% of Iceland's total population travelled to France to watch Iceland vs. France in the Euro Championship..

Russia missed an opportunity there I guess .

    Today .

According to University of Michigan professor Stefan Szymanski, the word "soccer" is a British coinage that British people only stopped using about 30 years ago..

According to the think tank Center for Global Development, a Brazilian victory in the World Cup would bring about the most aggregate happiness. They also suggest a US victory in the US-UK match would bring about greater happiness..

This may be the first time I’ve seen England confused with the UK rather than the other way around. Truly this World Cup is breaking boundaries..

SO COME ON THE UNDERDOGS. .

Well, Canada has been officially eliminated after losing (badly) to Croatia.

As my ancestors immigrated to Canada from England, I will throw my support behind the English squad moving forward.
