All fun and games till someone is beheaded for missing a putt.

Kind of harsh I would say. Think I will stick to this putt putt version

Now you know why I turned em down...lol

Nah, that was because of what getting stoned is like there.

Saudi Arabia is betting on EV batteries. That should put the world on high alert..

It’s almost too late for the US and parts of Europe to catch up..

Apart from China, no country has managed to achieve manufacturing scale. .

That may be about to change..

Saudi Arabia wants to go electric. It's getting its hands on minerals critical for batteries and taking a stake in the EV-supply chain..

As shortages loom, Saudi Arabia has drawn in lithium miners and battery makers to set up operations, filling a critical gap. .

The country wants 30% of cars on its capital city’s roads to be electric by the end of this decade .

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced $6 billion of projects as part of a larger push to boost its mining industry..

It’s also processing almost 150 exploration license applications from foreign companies.

The government signed an agreement to buy as many as 100,000 electric vehicles over 10 years from an EV maker that the country’s sovereign wealth fund has a stake in.

It's allocating over $3 billion to set up the plant over the next decade .

Creating manufacturing and processing facilities within Saudi Arabia's borders is a prescient move.

It will eventually help bring down the costs and ensure the nation becomes a key part of the global electric vehicle-value chain.

Saudi Arabia's geographical position allows it to supply Europe and get resources from China and Australia. .

The kingdom has assessed and issued mining licenses to tap into its mineral resources, with an estimated potential value of $1.3 trillion .

Saudi Arabia could develop its own resources, too:.

The lithium in the salty brine byproduct around its oil fields is becoming a key source for the metal as a supply deficit widens .

·Saudi Arabia’s advance into battery materials — as shortages raise costs and companies’ battle tightening green regulations to get ahead — is turning what stands to be a huge threat to its economy into a long-term benefit .

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will launch a new series of stadium golf events in which players will hit their drives and approach shots onto a giant screen as the PGA Tour announced its most significant fightback against the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series .

In the new format, which allows 18 holes to be squeezed into a two-hour slot, players will shift from the giant screen to a short-game area in the stadium .

It will be known as TGL and involve six teams of top players playing each other in a round-robin over 15 Monday nights between January and April, with semi-finals and a final to follow .

It is scheduled to begin in 2024 and had the backing of the PGA Tour. Many of the details of venues, television coverage, sponsorship and prize money have yet to be worked out .

It has been conceived partly as a means for Woods — still the biggest draw in golf — to continue to showcase his skills to the sport’s audience despite the debilitating leg injuries he suffered in a car crash last year .

As he introduced a raft of measures designed to stop the exodus of players to LIV, the PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said that those who had already defected would not be welcome back .

LIV is expected to announce a new raft of signings on Monday, with the Open champion Cameron Smith among them, and when asked if the rebels who were impressed by the changes and wanted to return would have their suspensions lifted, Monahan said: “No.”.

Like watching Eric and Dave play Golden Tee in the local bar league…except for a whole lot more on the line than a pitcher or two.

The entire world is losing it.  Talk about f’d up priorities.  OMFG

Lee Westwood has branded changes to the PGA Tour as "just a copy" of the controversial Saudi Arabian-backed breakaway LIV Golf series.

The PGA Tour is increasing prize money at 12 events to $20m (£17m) to match those of LIV Golf.

Top players will play in all 12, and at least 20 events, across the season.

"I laugh at what the PGA Tour players have come up with," said Westwood, who resigned from the PGA Tour to take part in the first LIV event in June.

Speaking to Golf Digest, the former world number one added: "It's just a copy of what LIV is doing. There are a lot of hypocrites out there. They all say LIV is 'not competitive'. They all point at the no-cut aspect of LIV and the short fields.

"Now, funnily enough, they are proposing 20 events that look a lot like LIV. And hopefully, they will be held to account as we were in the early days."

Donald Trump has claimed The Open's organisers want to bring the tournament back to his Turnberry course on the Ayrshire coast.

The championship, organised by the R&A, has not been staged there since Stewart Cink's victory over Tom Watson in 2009.

The former US president bought the resort in 2014 and invested hundreds of millions of pounds renovating the hotel and redesigning the course.

"I can tell you they want to come back," Trump told reporters after playing the pro-am at the LIV Golf Team Championship being held at the Trump Doral resort here in Miami.

"The Open wants to come back. I think this will have to be sorted out first," he added, referring to the ongoing disputes over the breakaway LIV Golf tour.

"It is rated the number one course in Europe now. We did a big surgery on Turnberry and it has gotten great reviews, even from people who hate me.

"They want The Open to go back."

Tiger Woods pipped Rory McIlroy to the $15m (£12.6m) prize for generating the most media interest this year - despite playing only three events in 2022.

Woods, 46, beat the world number one to top spot on the PGA Tour's 'Player Impact Programme' (PIP).

The scheme was introduced last year to reward competitors for generating positive interest in the PGA Tour.

McIlroy, who earned $18m (£15m) when he won the Tour's 2022 FedEx Cup title, got $9m (£7.5m) for being second.
