I like the format of playing other players, it's also a Great time for WGT to do there IP sweeps for multi accounts. I play the course and if we tie and you're a tp to legend you will win tie breaker I'm just here for the best score against the course and to push the low-level players to higher rank with the win...It's all fun. My nickel worth lol

I like the format of playing other players,

Coins games in general would not change . But even in those the ( other player ) is more likely to quit if he/'she knows or even thinks they will lose since there is no bearing on the WIN/LOSS conclusion .

Wouldn't you ( in a 3 hole round ) after hitting 2 birdies . Like to see if you could hit a 3rd in a row or even an eagle ? Hah ! Nope . The ( other player ) isn't about to let you find out . Disrupting the round several different ways . Because it has been made clear that that is acceptable .

Quitting any round is unsportsmanlike , rude , disruptive , illogical and just plain wrong .

In normal coin games " the best score against the course " is a joke . Rounds are won even if 0 , 1 , 2 .....holes are played . No emphasis on completed rounds .

Uh What ? If they even cared to or knew how to do that . You might be right .

    In Showdowns . ( only )

The best score against the course

Is the intent of the Tournament . Single player rounds would help ensure a more accurate leaderboard(s) .

It's been my experience that a level 125 master has no game so I really wouldn't worry about them and just play your own game.

I don't think that is the norm though . In fact anyone who has reached level 125 probably has good game .

And for instance in my experience in the coin rooms there is no way to stereotype any tier or level . Though some mobile players tiered up quickly . Many have been playing for years at middle tier levels .

Not to mention many original WGTers from the flash era have tiered up very slowly and are exceptional players .

If stroke play is to be the deciding factor, it makes more sense to have single player rounds on a WGT designed custom course, with groups organized by tier and playing from tier default tees regardless of the credit ante.  Those who bet more and play higher divisions would win higher level balls, more packs, etc.

If head-to-head is the goal, keep the coin rooms as is but make it a match play format with total score functioning as the ranking/tiebreaker between players with equal number of match wins throughout the round.  Put the onus on winning the match, not just playing for the score.

Single player rounds would be tuff for many with the shot clock. At least playing with somebody you have a breather moment between shots. I would believe many would not play under that format.

Still trying to figure out how players at level over 90 are a master with no ranked rounds and a Legend with 40 ranked rounds., and a level 80 tour pro.High levels and all quit on me today, so i did play alone. Was not as much fun as playing with someone. It is a shame they did away with minimum ranked rounds.  Have a great weekend

I guess everybody's thinking + or - the same. If it's the general consensus, I don't see why the showdown event even has to be a match-play format. :-/

Simon, I think it's because of the "buy-in" feature and the fact that you have to post coins to play.  Currently the only coin play is match play.  That has to be the answer.

Ron it's no thing at all . In my Showdown rounds . For some reason 50 % of my opponents forfeit before the 1st hole . So that's quite a few . Allowing me to play 3 stress free holes solo . It is quite nice . The transition between holes is plenty of a break .

EDIT : I'm talking just the showdowns . Which are short and sweet and few and far in between . Could be better sorted out if played solo I think .

The 200 plus coin games I play a month . I think are GR8 with an opponent .

Maybe Paul . But I would think we all would buy in just the same to play a solo qualifying round .

It is a special algorythm for supposedly exclusive Mobile players . PCEA players still have the full road to climb for advancing .

Or after a quick mobile advance . Just switch to PCEA and you got it licked .
