Players Quitting but Not Forfeiting

  I'm getting really sick of this & it's happening more & more lately. It's near the end of a coin game match & my opponent knows they have no chance of winning. Then the circles start spinning, I wait for a minute or two but they just keep spinning like a lost connection. I close out my app without forfeiting then reconnect. I'm reconnected & the timer is counting down waiting for the other player to reconnect. The timer runs out & sometimes it gives me the win & the coins but most of the time it doesn't show a winner & I'm not even sure if I get my coins back. I don't do an exact count of my coins before each match. If these players just close out their app & don't reconnect, it should give me the win but it doesn't. There must be some kind of exploit that players have figured out to forfeit a game without losing their coins. If you know how this is done, please don't say it here because I don't want more people to figure this out. WGT really needs to do something about this. These people are pathetic!!!

  So another exploit some players are using now to get out of games they know they can't win without forfeiting. This has happened twice to me in last 2 days. My opponent knows they have no chance to win & their play clock runs down to 00 but doesn't give the player a timeout warning. It just stays at 00 & circles are not spinning like a bad connection. I wait for about a minute with no change. I close out my app & reconnect but it's like we never even played the game. Not even really sure if I got my coins back because I have over 6 million coins & don't look at exact amount before each match. This is some kind of exploit & it's really pathetic! WGT!! Get your act together & stop these lame exploits!!!

  This is not new, has been done in all kinds of challenges (for credits and coins regardless) ever since I started.

  I'm guessing that, often enough, the intent is to have you "concede" by closing the game, so the opponent might "win" and cash in the chips(?)

  When that happens, I go to task manager and end the game then quickly restart the game. If the opponent is still there it will reconnect and continue the match if they are not it will just time out waiting for them to return and then you will get the win by forfeit.

  That's what I do. I close out my game app then quickly reconnect but it doesn't always do what you describe. I'm convinced that some players have figured out an exploit to end the match without forfeiting & without losing any coins.

  Dont wait a minute, when the clock strikes zero close the app and re-open it. While your sitting and waiting, your most likely on the reconnect countdown but dont see that screen w/o closing and reopening the app in time.

  Exactly, you have to move on it quickly and after you close the game out reopen it immediately so you do not time out yourself.  If someone did not bail on the game like just a slow connection or something then it will reconnect to continue the match so all it does is cause a slight delay in the game play. If you suspect someone bailed on the game do it now and do it fast.

  This is what I post on the wall of some of these obvious bad sports .

  IDK where people got the idea that forfeiting in coin rooms was acceptable . It is not acceptable in sports or in life in general . It is not sporting , not polite , and in many cases not justified . As one may still have a chance to win . There is a lot to be said for the honor in doing ones best to complete any round . And in coin rooms , completing a 3 hole round is not too much to ask .
  
  The selfish arguement to justify saving time to get more sponsor time for yourself . Is not practical in 3 hole play . One can usually comfortably get 3 complete matches in . If they go quickly , maybe 4 matches .
  Sponsor rounds only cost 10 credits to 72 credits anyway .
  
  If the opponent ends the match by closing out the program and not returning . The remaining player does not get the sponsor apparel rewards .
  
  Or what about the thrill of trying to hit 3 eagles ? Or 2 eagles and a bird ? Or 1 eagle and 2 birds ? Or just 3 birds ?
  
  Not going to happen with these forfeiters .

  Further thoughts

  I recently accidentally clicked on a 9 hole Beverly Hills round . At first i freaked out . Thinking oh no I will only get 1 sponsor round . Then thinking why would I want to play a whole 9 holes that weren't even ranked ? I seriously considered forfeiting . But I could not . Playing a very good Tour Master ( claiming he has the # 1 spot in the Diamond 1 League with 200,000 at that time ).
  
  It was a very good friendly and competitive round . At the end he won by 1
  
  We both thoroughly enjoyed the round .

   

  In another round recently . He was a guy from Phx . Originally from Maine . Things were going GR8 . We were tied going into the 3rd hole . His approach was out on the fringe . Mine wasn't GR8 at 5 yds from the hole . But he immediately forfeited . WHAT ? He could have made his chip shot or gotten close . I could have missed my 5 yard putt ( good bet I would have missed ) . And at the very least tied . But we will never know . And the friendly guy from my hometown . Wasn't so friendly after all .
  
  IDK what the answrs are ? These rounds aren't supposed to be about the W's or L's . Some fight for placing in the Diamond leagues . Some just want to play as fast as they can . If you use more than 20 seconds on the 45 second clock . They tell you they don't have all day . Lol .
  
  I play to play . That's all . To play the courses , the holes , the very competitive players in the Coin Rooms . I play to finish the round . Mostly 3 holes . I expect the same from my opponent . Yes I expect that .
  
  Since technically they are not really " speed rounds " . I think they could find a way to make them count . As ranked rounds . If only in the 9 holers .
  
  9 holes is a lot of time and effort to not count for anything . But I am sure that would gain a lot of interest .
  
  It would no doubt be difficult to incorporate in the format as it is . But they could be a new kind of Coin Room .
  
  Actual ranked Coin Play . 9 or 18 holes ( 9 holes counting double to equal an 18 hole round of course as it already is .now in ranked rounds .
  
  No special algorithm . Just the stats and the regular algorithm . Lowering ones average with better lower scores . Moving up in tier by saturating and improving from there . Doing so enabling access to better equipment . DUH .
  
  Such a popular lacking format . It should be a crime . And you're busted WGT . Put in the work . And we'll consider probation . I'm not even laughing right now .

  But I also win many . Barely . But I win a hellalot more than I lose . But it doen't matter . 3 holes are a fun but unsatisfying way to keep playing the game .
  
  If 9 holes were ranked . That would be a different story .

  Just this week There was both a Champion and a TC that quit after the 2nd holes . They both got the wall post above . They deleted them immediately of course . But they got the message .

  EDIT : These rounds are so not about the Tier , Level , or Average . They are about how you perform . With your knowledge , skill , equipment , savvy and luck . Just like the opponent .

  I played this guy yesterday . Said he plays a lot of real golf . I believed him .

  tpc4321 has not done anything recently.

  But he beat me , easily , very accurate , with starter balls .

  It's just funny that these guys can refine their games so well . Of course by playing a lot . But their stats and presence doesn't exist .

   

   

  

  I'm just saying that at some point in the future . There is going to be a very large group of very good players . As good or better than the very best we have right now . That don't have any stats . That is just a fact .

  What's going to happen when some of them want to be validated ? When they want their prowess to be known ?

  Is all it is going to take is just issuing a challenge to the established GR8's ? Will the challenge be accepted ? If they win , will it be acknowledged ?

  I just wonder if there is a plan for that ?

  Just hit the X on the screen ,reload & rejoin match. Quicker.
