Instant gratification is dangerous you see.
Same as addiction, it’s me me me.
This game is of patience and not of speed,
    things slowed down come naturally.

    Gimme gimme gimme.
    Numbers numbers numbers.
If the numbers were had I’d be the best,
contrary to that, and hindered instead.

    Fast answers bring complacency,
    as practice now unnecessary.
Gimme gimme your notes you say,
yet years of work to give them way?

Mucho time it takes to learn,
many clubs and balls you’ll churn.
Mapping them both from tee to green,
hours upon hours to get a routine.

Instant gratification is for fools you see,
as superficial shots is all that will be.
Hours upon hours and grind after grind,
suffering through with the heart of a lion.

One last thought before I go,
Have fun on here and take it slow.

I see it happen all the time
The players who will cry and whine
    Whenever their shot goes astray
"They must have changed the game!" they say

And then they ask you for your sheet
that shows each club and shot to hit,
and how much spin to use to get
the ball to stop and not be wet

I laugh, and tell them all instead,
"I do all my math in my head"
And then they look at me askew
Because they don't know what to do

"Put in some practice rounds", I say
"Try different things along the way
and see what works, and what does not,
and that will help you hone your shots"

But such advice is oft ignored
They'd rather have the quick reward
Than put in time to learn the game
They'd rather think that VEM's to blame.

It wouldn’t do for us to be the same
if we were , who would we blame
when we buy some balls that then get lost
would we say “not my fault I’m not the boss”

    playing slow or playing fast
we are all here to have a blast
play for fun or play to fill time
we all have our reasons, I’ve forgotten mine

been playing so long have lots of days
a tweak here a tweak there but no longer a maze
first thing in the morning and last before night
in coin room, tourney or clash , I will fight

to improve my game I have not a hope
occupying me , so each day I cope
with life and it’s pressures and every day things
WGT my constant and all that it brings

There was a man who played golf in Nantucket
Who kept all his balls in a bucket.
       But his caddy, named Nan,
       Never had a good plan
Caused him to empty his bucket, Nantucket.

I'm not very good a rhyming
Nor hitting the meter with timing
But I give it my all
    When I hit the ball
    Clearly,  I need more training.

There once was a man from Nantucket

Who was tempted to play WGT and said f ck it

Well he gave it a whirl

    But then met a girl

And she said to him, "See this...well f ck it"

He def made the better decision.
