HELP with Country Club

    Greetings,

    We started a CC in August of 2020 and have reached a point where we could use some advice on going forward.
    We currently have 55 members which was recently cut down from 86.
    Our 5 officer's, all on Discord Comms, drafted a "Guidelines & Expectations" email which was sent to all members. 
    Unfortunately, there are many members we never hear from on Mobile Chat or on our Club's Forum so we can't really communicate.
    We would like to be able to retain more experienced players who seem to join, look around and then leave.
    Any advice from any of y'all more experienced CC members or Owners would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Smart move.  Many players who are searching for a CC will not join one with a lot of "dead weight", so that should help you attract more active players.

    As the Owner of your club, you have an option to EMAIL MEMBERS from this web site.  It's under CLUB TOOLS.  You can also go into OWNER TOOLS there and give that permission to other members (e.g. Directors).  Granted, that only gives you one-way communication, but it's something.

    There's nothing you can do about that.  Club membership is a mutual thing.  Every player has different things they're looking for from a club.  This is even more true for experienced players.  If your club appeals to them, they'll stay.  If it doesn't, they'll leave.  Similarly, if you don't want a player to be part of your club for whatever reason, you can remove them.

    All you can do is set the table.  You can't make anyone come to the buffet.  It sounds like you are good at making your club's Guidelines & Expectations clear to your members.  The ones who stay will be on board with those.  Those are the ones you want to keep.

    Ask yourself this:  Would you really want someone to stay in your club if they're not happy there, or if they're not going to adhere to your Guidelines & Expectations?

    More important than that, IMHO, is to be attractive to your members. Happy members will stay and will stay active!

    It may be good to purge the deadwood, but be tolerant and transparent about it!

    Funny you mention that as we actually have a Former Marine playin the role of The Kinder, Softer, Director for me. 

    I tend to have allergic reactions to Deadwood. 😀

    Looks like the same person (you) is winning all of your Club tournaments.

    Could that be putting your other members off and any new potential members from joining, I wonder ?

    Looks like the majority of your members are lower tiers. try getting creative with your tournaments. Offer tourneys for masters/tour master , pro/tour pro etc . Another thing our owner does is create a tournament for someone who has a hole in one such as "willie's Ace". Just a couple of ideas to bat around.

    That's o.k. - if it's your style, just follow it (with an eye on the audience).

    A certain time of inactivity may lead to dismissal, but the motivation to play and participate must be promoted. Maybe, a hand extended for comebackers?

    Remember: We are the owners, but we have to please our members to be successful.

    The Club Officers all pass along their thanks.

    We strive to make the Club experience beneficial to all and all the help y'all will provide is always welcomed.

    In my short life span with WGT (1yr + 2 months) and a few joined and existed country clubs... There will be a very small percentage of the membership actively taking part in the forum. 

    ~> All you can do is set the table.
