    Hey all,

I started playing WGT around Xmas 2020 and proceeded reasonably well so far (Master, L81).

Yet, I see little challenges at this stage, as level progression is getting slow and equipment making a real difference being available only in L95+. (I purchased quite some stuff in the 40/50s which helped a lot.)

Playing tournament after tournament is ok, but with only some 10 courses available getting repetitive. Matchplay still isn't that great an option, as competitors often are L100+ players - little perspectives there...

Any tipps and hints on how to spicen up the experience till you hit ~ L95?

    Cheers and great game!

The ''real'' fun begins at Legend when purses begin to be worth it. Many exclusive Legend tournaments are available. During that time you can always play Master tournaments with good prizes money to spice up challenges.

At L85 you can buy the best iron set for his era. This will give you a boost to rank up a bit more. The gap between Master and Legend can be quite short if you shoot ranked games 60 or under consistently.

    Good luck!

A very good piece of advice right there.

You can now get all of your forever wedges. The Titlest 56, 60, and 64 degree wedges have the very same specs as the old Cleveland wedges that were top rated by many of the best players here. Fmagnets and sebicu both carry them. These wedges are available from levels 76 to 80.

A lot of the fun of WGT for some of us really comes from social interaction. If your country club uses a chat app such as Discord or Telegram it is easy to set up games with other members.  Oral chat using  Discord then ups the fun factor and can continue long after the game.

Along with other advice, just taking the time to learn all the shots you can play with those wedges should keep it fun and interesting for quite awhile.

It depends on what you want out of playing this game, but if becoming a real good player is something you want, you still have a lot to learn. Learning to play different type shots in different situations can be a lot of fun. After nearly 7500 ranked rounds, I still find it fun to try new shots and to find a better way to play.

Like others have mentioned, there can be a lot of fun playing multiplayer games and other formats as well. If you look around, there are tons of fun ways to play this game. Many country clubs have a lot of fun things happening and have added fun with the communication within the club.

You can also play on the S S WGT Tour if you like. Follow that link for all you need to know. It is nothing terribly exciting, but adds some communication with others and a sense of community. A new tournament just started this week.

EDIT: Forgot to mention... That Tour uses handicaps. So it gives new players a very good chance at success.

Some good answers above . But if you are already bored after

Total Ranked Rounds Played  179 .

Then we may not be able to help you .

On the other hand , The WGT Tiered Tournaments . That are unlimited play . Are different than any format . In that the only round that counts in one of those is the one you finish .

You can stop or restart the round at any hole . Without consequences . While playing if you click the left side menu . You will see a RESTART OPTION . The only format with that option .

You can spend a GR8 deal of time on each course refining your skills .

WGT has an Unlimited Play Tiered Single Player ( not single play ) Tournament for every tier and for every Stroke Play course . With Default settings .

Now those do tend to get boring after a couple thousand rounds .

So to spice them up . In your CC . You make a Unlimited Play Tiered Single Player Tournament . For every course . Change all the settings . T0 different set ups for every course . No more boring WGT default settings . Change every variable in every way way . The conditions , the wind , the hole locations , the tee distance . Etc ..

That way every time you get good at playing one set up . And are deciding to complete some rounds with hopefully average lowering scores . You can then go and make another Tournament on the same course . Again with everything changed and altered . To make it completely unfamiliar again . Then play that a bunch of times until you're getting low scores again . Then change it again .

You can do that with every course . In your CC Tourneys . They are the exact same format as

    05/24
    Wk 22 9-Hole Unlimited Play

    Random Drawing
    free

Except that one has all default settings . The ones you make in your CC have every thing changed anyway you like it .Or don't like it . If you so desire . The tougher the better .

That is what they are for . That is what WGT had in mind when they created the

Unlimited Play Tiered Single Player Tournament.

And are the rounds that millions of WGTers play thousands and thousands of rounds in .

      Hope that helps .

In addition to the suggestions above, this is what I'd suggest:

    1.  Play some multi-player games with others - AS, stroke play, match, skins.

    2.  Join a CC that has special tournaments and events going on.  Read the recruiting posts under Country Club Corner and join one that looks like it might be fun.
