Prime example of such, when in windowed mode I see my desktop around the capture, in the steam screenshot it show white screen around the capture.

I wonder if that is some sort of privacy thing.

Why playing from steam in the first place?

Gary, if your monitor's native resolution is 1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080 and printscreen a 8K fullscreen picture, you will receive a 1600 x 900 in the first case and a 1920 x 1080 in the second. If you want to see the real resolution of the 8K pic, you just open it with a program ( i use irfanview).

I wasn't, I knew I could take screenshots while on steam through it., and yes it might be something to do with privacy, not showing desktop.  But why show the white bars when in full screen.   But still doesn't answer the question of why the screenshot did not show the meter mostly below the taskbar in windowed and mostly below the bottom of the monitor frame in full screen.

Seems like the only way to show true what is seen on the monitor is to use phone pictures.

Actually I wish I could.  It shows and an empty folder in the list of programs.  I can get to it with a right click of the desktop.  The main screen doesn't show you much, there is a listing on the left side of different things, such as 3d setting, screen resolution, aspect, until you click on one of them then the right side of the app populates with the information.  So I guess I would need to know what you need to look at.  I haven't messed with it, so all should be whatever Nvidia considers default.

why this isnt showing up within the post baffles me.  I took a look throught my list of programs in a couple of different places, I dont even show the control panel anywhere as a program.  I may not of installed it with the new driver when I installed the new card in this computer.  This may be a holdover for when it had the 570 in it.  Control panel installs as part of a driver update with nvidia cards, GEForce experience is a separate download.

EDIT... I found out why and fixed it

    SCALING

scaling is set to aspect ratio, not to full or no

perform scaling is display not gpu

    not overriding

    PREVIEW

    connection is dvi

    current resolution is 1600x900

    refresh is 60

    native 1920x1080

description--stretches desktop to fit entire screen even is aspect ratio is not the same.

typical usage is make desktop image as large as possible.

These should have all been default setting, other then resolution.

Also reinstalled the display driver and did it as express instead of custom.  What I was seeing as the control panel was current.

    2 questions:

If the scaling is set to preserve the aspect ratio, how it is possible on the description saying that it stretches if aspect ratio is not the same?

If the native resolution of the display is 1920 x 1080, why u set it up at 1600 x 900?
