I jumped right out with a lucky eagle on 1. Hit front edge of the green and rolled in the hole. Lippy answered with a birdie.
We both birdie 2 with both eagle putts coming up just short. Lippy ties the match on 3 after my birdie slides passed the hole.
I get the lead back on 5 after Lippy's birdie putt wraps around the edge of the hole-almost like a basketball going around the edge of the rim and bouncing out.
I take a 2 stroke lead on 10 with a very nice approach and bird. Lippy was just short of the green and almost chipped in.
The anxiety picks up on holes 13 & 14 when Lippy's irons start a fire and he sticks both for easy birds. I managed 2 pars to limit the damage.
Blood pressure picking up right now.
No damage on 15.
Hole 16 is where Lippy's name equaled his putting. I watched a gr8 putt for birdie lip out and I sink mine to take a 1 stroke lead. Lippy's should have gone in. WGT'd in my opinion. This putt changed the match.
I increase my lead to 2 strokes on 17 when Lippy added to much bs to his 3rd and rolled back down the green. I birdie he parred.
Hole 18 we split pars.
I played a tough opponent this evening and a gentleman. Was a great match all the way to the end.
