    Robbo81303:

Gee, I withdraw from coin games fairly often, but it's usually because I've received an invite from a friend to play a ranked multiplayer round.

Coin games are really just a sad joke, not much more to me than a way to pass the time when I can't find a multiplayer ranked round. Coin games are by far the most overtly manipulated format on WGT, especially when there's a large disparity in the opponents' tiers, and, as a result, sandbagging runs rampant. If the morons-in-charge think so little of the format and the folks who play it to allow (and encourage) this to happen, it seems silly to expect the players to show anything other than a similar level of respect for it, either.

    Just saying...

You have to remember , mobile players dont have the same options as the PC players for multi player and alt shots , our choices are play alone in ranked rounds or practice , play friends or play coin rooms . There are a lot of mobile players who would gladly give up coin rooms in favour of multi and alt shots.

I like to think that they are down by one and their 30 minute clock is about to run out and would to start one more game for a new chances to win.

This is by far the best description of the coin rooms I have ever read. I agree 1000 percent. Coin rooms are a complete joke.

As far as mobile. I started on mobile. Still would play it but I switched to PC about 5 months ago just for these reasons.

WGT does not seem to care about mobile at all. My old club was mostly mobile guys and they were always emailing and asking WGT for answers and never got anywhere.

The PC gave me new life in WGT. I probably would have stopped playing. Maybe this is what WGT wants, for everyone to just play PC. Who knows.

Exactly. You have to play so fast to get a good few games in but are stopped by slow players. I don't why the bleep they take so bleeping long. The distance isn't going to change or the hole get bigger. Worst is off the tee. Small tail wind and wide open fairway but they still take 40 bleeping seconds. Should have 60 seconds to complete the whole damn hole.

    agreed..

should also pair up like or more similar players.  Not sure how WGT/TopGolf thinks that pairing up a Tour Champ with Master on Olympic is anything but a guaranteed loss for Master.

Shockingly enough many of us players are not here to see how many games we can play or how fast. Whining about someone who takes the full 45 seconds or maybe even on occaision gets a warning seems senseless. Many here to relax. If you don't have that much time well don't know what to say.

    My point exactly

    Bubsy04:

If a loss is inevitable why bother.

    It saves us both time.

Maybe it is your need for validation?

My point exactly . We all need motivation and if you're playing rubbish or have made a bad shot or had a bad bounce or your opponent is just on a roll then why prolong the agony ? There are plenty on fresh games to be had where you start off level again . Feel free to quit on me any time you like . Playing a 3 hole game out when you're 2 down is just pointless. A gg or w pl and a swift exit should be agreeable to all concerned.

Think some are overlooking the fact that if playing apparel , and you lose the match you do still receive a bronze box, even though it is small it is something , so forfeiting on the green makes no sense. I know if I play Chelsea and lose I still often get 400 coins which almost pays for my stake. I appreciate this is small fry to many but for new to coin room players they may not appreciate this point.

    bossbird:

I am genuinely interested to know why a player might forfeit , I accept they might not win , but when they play their last putt and think I am going to get mine they forfeit . It is still a loss to them either way , but am I missing something , are there stats kept in coin rooms of number of losses that don’t take forfeiting into account. ? It makes no sense to me , they still lose their coins I still win , but it isn’t the correct behaviour , is it ??

This is the OP of this thread . She is a respectable veteran of this game . She plays by the long established protocols set by 10's of thousands of players that put this online virtual golf game on the map .

1st question is why a player might forfeit . Answers range from " What is the point of continuing if you are going to lose ? "

Terrible answer . You entered into a game to play respectfully . That means completing the round . Period .

You say " it saves time " .

Terrible answer . It doesn't save enough time that justifies quitting and disrespecting the protocols . Sponsor rounds are 30 minutes . If it runs out before you think you are ready . Because you completed your round . It costs only 62 ( give or take ) credits to start another sponsor round . No coin loss . Lol .

Another claims that opponents equipment is no match for their own .

Terrible answer . The game ( coins ) is set up that it is presumed that appropriate equipment is being used by all tiers . Random greens speeds have been implemented to create the parity .

Another claims that " coins is not important and an invite from another to play another format is acceptable ."

Terrible answer . In Flash MP rounds blocked invites . As it is rude and disrespectful to leave one MP format in the middle of a round to play another format .

Another says " It doesn't hurt anything ".

Terrible answer . First thing a forfeit does is interrupts the the flow of the round . It is against protocol . Second it null and voids the round . The winner does not get credit for a win in the win / loss column . Which is an important statistic in coins as there are no other stats kept . And NO . Most times you get no sponsor apparel and no credit at all for the sponsor round . Only sometimes do you get that .

( Sometimes when a player leaves . I get the forfeit and the loss and the loss of entry fee . Many times . And I get that it is rare for you all .)

Basically these guidelines and protocols have been set up for 15 years now . I get that many were not aware of these . As WGT forgot to tell you about them and that you could find them at https://www.wgt.com/forums/ . Heck many didn't even know about https://www.wgt.com/.

So you had no direction and started making up anything that you felt was acceptable .

Now you know those decisions have a more established history with thought out rational and fair protocols  . Ones that Lesley and other respectable veterans should have a confidence and reasonable expectation to be met by their opponents .

There is so much more . Somehow there has to be a common ground . cooperating and sporting moving forward . IMSO .

A convert . Awesome . Rarely spoken . Now we know it goes both ways .

That is an interesting analogy . Likely not the case . As PCEA is based on the Mobile platform .

I think that the challenges and restrictions that WGT has even more so NOW in this platform . Have them stumped and up against impossible odds moving forward . The Mobile platform itself has to remain relevant to survive in the future . But is there a future when it can no longer move up , improve , advance , upgrade ? Under pressure to do so . From the WGT Universe . From corporate . From competitors .
