    Cicero733:

I have always been curious. Why do most players prefer the 15/30/60 scale over the 10/20/50 scale?

The shorter the meter movement the easier it is to time the ding or slight offding.

let's say i have a putt that i'm going to hit with 6 feet of power.  I'd rather have it on the 60 scale and hit 10% than have a 10 foot meter and hit 60%.

it just works well on the numbers. the 30 meter is great. Truth is i don't even use the 15 meter all that  often. only on two feet or less tap ins. 3-7.5 feet i use the 30 meter.

so if i rarely use the 15 meter the 10 would even be more useless to me.

30 scale i use up to 7.5 feet.  although if it's 7 ill probably use the 60 foot scale. 7.5 is right on the 25% line tho.

60 foot scale i use the most. 7-18 feet. 18 feet being exactly 30%. after that i switch to the 100 foot meter.

so summary. the only meter i hit over 30% power is the 100 meter. the 15/30/60 just works better for people that like to hit low %s on the meter.

That sounds reasonable and something that can be easily tested. I use the 10/20/50 scale and usually use the 10 scale, but as you note I have longer meter movements. I’ll try bumping it up to the 20 scale and see what happens.

    Thanks for the insight.
