    Quiet refuge

Take quiet refuge from the storm. Reacquaint yourself with the miracle of being you.

Look at the beauty that is your life. See it not as a flat image in the eyes of others, but as a living reality unto itself.

Yes, you are connected to all that is, to all who are. Choose not to corrupt that connection with need, but rather to nourish it with generosity.

Your spirit is alive and well. Let yourself experience its potent richness.

Breathe in, breathe out, and ride upon the energy that flows through your existence. Linger for a while in pure truth that has no need for validation, or expression, or fear.

At your most authentic level, all is well. And will always be.

    Smile about it

Activate your courage and smile about it. Exercise your ability and enjoy every aspect of the experience.

Give birth to new intentions and immediately give action to them. Hone your competence with commitment and persistence.

Embrace your vulnerability and watch as creativity gushes forth. Stand firmly in reverence for truth and see your new achievements come to life.

Work your way toward higher and higher levels of richness, wonder, gratitude, and fulfillment. Make it all mean something with kindness, generosity, understanding, and love.

Let every leaf that drops in autumn deliver fresh confidence in the springtime already on the way. Stride firmly past false urgency into the beauty of true purpose.

Turn around for just a moment and smile about it, thankful for all you’ve known. Then quickly look forward and continue on your way, stronger than ever before.

    Escaping from ego

Your ego pushes you to appear impressive. Yet that same ego prevents you from being truly impressive.

To the extent you can, get your ego out of the way. Rather than forcing a contrived image of yourself, allow and enable your authentic beauty to shine through.

Before you speak, tell yourself that what you have to say doesn’t matter. That takes all the pressure off and gives you permission to speak your highest truth.

Before you act, tell yourself that what others think of you doesn’t matter. That allows you to go forward with sincerity and confidence.

Making things all about you is severely limiting. Stepping as far as possible away from your ego is highly liberating.

Be you, without being focused on you. Feel the freedom of escaping from ego, and experience all the advantages that brings.

    Humility and ambition

Humility and ambition form a powerful combination. Though they’re sometimes considered polar opposites, they’re actually perfect complements to each other.

Ambition achieves. Humility extends and expands on achievement, makes it meaningful and beneficial beyond its own self interest.

The success brought about through ambition can push you in the direction of arrogance and complacency. Humility helps you avoid those dangers.

Humility opens your eyes to a world full of differing perspectives. Ambition equips you to generate value from the knowledge and wisdom you gain.

What does the merger of ambition and humility look like? It looks like success, like leadership, like fulfillment, because it is.

Consider how you could temper your ambition with humility and share the benefits of your humility with ambition. Connect humility to ambition, and let their interaction bring new positive power and goodness to life.

    Give truth a chance

Maybe no one will see the truth but you. That’s enough.

The point is to know the truth, not to be praised for knowing it. The point is to live with authenticity, not to convince anyone else that you’re doing so.

Yes, share your truth with others as you can. But don’t let it become diluted by your need for acceptance.

Instead, be generous and patient with that truth, and with those who hear it. Give it time, give them time, to discover that truth, each in their own way.

For the way to know truth is not to be told what it is. The way to know truth is to arrive at it through the experience of living.

Give truth a chance. And deepen your understanding of how indivisible truth and life always are.

    Continuous adventure

Can you make an adventure out of a mundane task? A child can certainly do that, again and again.

Can you live every ordinary day with a continually refreshed sense of adventure? Yes you can when that’s what you choose.

What you have before you is not a frustration or a problem or an excuse to give up. What you have is the opportunity to participate in an adventure.

Stand up straight, take a deep breath, and begin the adventure. Focus your thoughts, allow gratitude to spread through your entire being, and follow the adventure wherever it leads.

Stir into the mix plenty of curiosity, wonder, action, competence, courage, and delight. Marvel at what a fine thing it is to be you, able to live with adventure in every moment.

The adventure you’ve always dreamed of living is here for you today. Live it now and live it well.

    Think for yourself

What’s in the news are problems other people have decided you should know about. What’s in the news is not an accurate depiction of life.

What’s on your screen are words and pictures precisely chosen to influence your thoughts, your actions, your beliefs, your feelings, your values. In that realm, what appear to be choices are just slightly differing pathways to the same outcome.

Information is a tool that you can use to your own great benefit and to the benefit of many, many others. Yet the power of information can also be used against you.

That doesn’t mean you have to be cynical. It does mean you must be diligent.

The information that will empower you is the information you seek out, and verify, and work to understand at a fundamental level. Everything else that gets pushed into your awareness is designed to lead you astray.

It’s your job to transform information into wisdom, and wisdom into a rich and meaningful life. Your very own positive possibilities are too magnificent to outsource that job to anyone else.

    Your life is now

Just because you have stumbled is no reason to continue to stumble. On the contrary, it gives you the opportunity to pick yourself up and continue.

Just because you have disappointed yourself or others is no reason to double down on that disappointment. You can now choose to turn in a different direction that’s more enriching for everyone involved.

You have not been perfect and won’t be perfect. Yet you can be much better and do much better.

The past is a great teacher but not a good refuge, and you certainly don’t want to imprison yourself there. Your life is now, and the choices you make now are the ones that matter.

Right now is when you can transform your disappointment into determination. Right now is when you can act with that determination to follow the highest purpose living deep within you.

Right now is when you can take all you’ve been and apply it to the best you can be. Your life is now, and there’s no limit to the good you can do with that opportunity.

    Can you see?

What if you were less concerned about what others think of you, and more concerned about the truth and quality of their lives? How would that change the things you say and do?

What if you could see every situation from a perspective that’s two or three levels higher than your current one? Would that improve the quality and effectiveness of your responses?

What if you could instantly remember the sum of all difficulties you’ve overcome? Would that make you less worried and anxious about the future?

What if you decided at the beginning of each day to be positive about life no matter what might happen? Would that enable you to spend more energy solving the problems and less time complaining about them?

What if you could see at a glance how deeply interconnected you are to each person you encounter? Would you approach those interactions with more kindness and generosity?

What if you make each choice, and act in every moment, like the very best person you can imagine yourself to be? Can you see the positive difference you will make in the world?
