I have created a simple and effective excel spreadsheet program that quickly calculates the distance you need to hit the ball for different elevations / wind.

I am sharing this with the entire community. I am also looking for new members for my country club "Titleist"! Please visit the club page and feel free to join us!

How does it work? Looks like straight math, what little shows up.

Its just a simple excel calculator to tell you how far you need to hit the ball accounting for elevation change or wind speed. You just download the calculator and then input the elevation up or down. Then it quickly generates the distance to the hole so you can select the right club. It is helpful for begginers or players that are not quick at doing math in their head.

    Hi Sam,

Looked at your calculator and thought you did a fine job, with the exception that that it doesn't calculate for wind variations of let us say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7,8, 9 10 11 o'clock.

I have used Sgt. Bilko's Wind Calculator program for the the last 2 years and with the exception of minor adjustments for different clubs and balls, his program works well and accurately for all wind variations of direction and force. Plus he has a handy putting calculator.

With both I can get the answers as fast as I can type in the variables.

Almost forgot to mention, I did switch to Pinhunters Wind and Putter Calculator, just forgot I did.

    Here's their link.

They both work great. Pinhunters gives distance of side variations as well as distance for wind, and the putting calculator is on the same excel program with an easy click over to go back and forth. Bilko's uses two separate programs that use screen space on the PC.

Plus I use Young's Ruler to measure yardages on screen accurately and quickly. Here's a link to his site page.  He will give you all the instructions.

If a cell isn't wide enough to show its contents, you will see the hashes displayed. Solution : Widen the cell (column), or format the cell to reduce the number of digits.

Nice start Saulo.. I started out with something simple as well.  It then turned into a spreadsheet that gives me dozens of calculations, including 3 club options for each wind direction, 2 putter distance options, flop shot offset, etc.  The game has changed since i last played so i am in the middle of adjusting calculations......

If you need a formula for a start of any calculation ping me.

If i can only ding though!
