We used to get a challenge match weekend once a quarter or two, then it went to every 8 weeks, then once a month, and now every 2 weeks.

Is WGT just that hard up for the money from all the balls wasted and passes purchased, or have the folks from the Georgian suddenly found a need for 100 more fancy putters this year and soon we'll be having these challenge matches every 3 days as WGT rolls over to help them out?

Let's go back to every 6-8 weeks or so. It's hard enough to get games some nights as it is. On challenge weekends it's almost impossible to get any decent games in.

First and foremost, they are not challenges, they are auctions - highest bidder wins.

Obviously when there are people willing to play them, and spend money. WGT will continue with them as regularly as they can.

Personally they make no difference to me, I do not know anyone who plays them so getting a game is easy.

I hadn't really thought of it as an auction before, but once you brought it to my attention, I see you're absolutely correct.

That just makes it even more mercenary, but then again, we are talking about WGT.

They have been every other week for at least a year and a half.

Half of the amusement to the clashes is watching other clubs try and bring THE GEORGIAN to there knees.

    +1!

In the beginning, there was no regular spacing. It took five months for six events from Oct 9, 2014.

After #6, there was a big gap of 5.5 months to #7. #8 followed 4 weeks later. Since then (Sept. 26, 2015) they have been on a mostly steady spacing. 28 have been after 13, 14 or 15 days, two under 20 and four above that, up to 28 days. Add two with a 7 and 12 days spacing.

I also noted that You-Know-Who won #13 with marginal 66,500 points...
