  40 pffft! You're just a bit of a kid. Hardly out of short trousers.

  I retired from playing Sunday League soccer when I was 40 and that was many years ago. 

  As for being depressed? Best cure for that is six laceholes from a size 12 steelie up the jacksy. Sort yourself out and stop feeling so sorry for yourself. You've got a lot more going for you than millions, if not billions, of others in the world.

    at 40 i would get out of bed at 6 am and prepare for the day to include a healthy movement.

    at my present age my preparations for the day, (to include a healthy movement) still begin at 6 am, but i don't get out of bed until 9 am.  author unknown !,   lol.  my nickle.

  40 is fine.

  You hit 30 in the middle of your 20s, WTF.  At 40 though you are a confirmed fossil that everyone knows is old - Halfway to 80.

  As I now enter my seriously mid 50s I recently listened to a radio show that said 50 is not OAP, but by golly it's certainly seriously getting through life.........Accept each stage as it comes, and learn to use mirrors less and in low light LOL

   It's been almost 25 years since my 40th. I have 2 kids older than you and the 3rd approaching it. Enjoy it, I sure wish I had the last 25 back, I sure as -ell would do things a lot different.
