In the pro section, 13 seed gaoerfuqiu is currently leading 4 seed NH1977. After four holes, the underdog gaoerfuqiu (average 75.33) is -2, while NH1977 (average 69.93) is even par. More to come.

Another update: NH1977 continued his even par play through six holes, but gaoerfuqiu bogeyed the fifth hole at Bethpage Black and double-bogeyed the sixth hole, giving the favorite NH1977 a one-shot lead.

On the seventh hole, considered by many to be the toughest hole on the course, NH1977 sank a beautiful 20-foot putt to save par, while gaoerfuqiu's par putt rimmed out, adding to NH1977's lead.

The wind was gusting hard at the par-three eighth hole, but it wasn't a problem for NH1977, who put his tee shot six feet from the hole. His birdie putt hit the side of the hole and bounced out, but he sank his par putt to finish off a spectacular hole. Meanwhile, gaoerfuqiu continued his expected demise, bogeying his fourth straight hole after an errant tee shot. This gave NH1977 a three shot lead with one hole to go, and he finished out the round winning by four strokes. I had a lot of fun playing with him, and he's a very nice competitor.
