Ok . So I asked him to explain the curious dates because I couldn't do the math . In fact when I tried it blew up my calculator .lol
Here is his response
"Hi Paul,
I play A LOT of St. Andrews and I know it so well, it's almost not fair. Well, to average players. But I shoot very well there and it lowered my average to become a Legend.
I'd probably be a level 50 something if I hadn't bought 10+ level ups in the Pro Shop.
I played about 20 hours a week too, maybe more. All I know is, I played a lot."
So I thought about it and this is what I proposed
I thank you for being honest . I don't have a problem with your method . However I hope you know the magnitude of experience ( that you will definitely need soon ) that you missed out on . I will back you up in my club so long as you agree to not play any tier lower than legend on St . Andrews . Also that you make an effort to play other courses as well . For this is not a 1 course game .
The reason I make these stipulations is out of fairness for all my club members . Not to mention there are going to be some veterans who feel you are a "sandbagger " ( good luck beating some of them on St Andrews) . So because in our club I don't want any bad blood between members because I insist that we treat each other as teammates with friendly and professional competiveness .
Let me know if you think this is something reasonable you can work with . Please feel free to ask me to consider any adjustment or concern you may have .
My goal is to provide a good CC experience to all members .
Thank you Paul
May the SUN always be with you
Personally the jury is still out on the credibility of his response . We will be watching to see ..
