My guy only hits his drives 220 tops.  How to you get more credits to vamp up your player?  Do you have to purchase them or can you earn them???

Buy credits at 1¢ each... 100 for $1.00  (or use AmEx in the next couple of days for a double credit promotion)

Earn credits by participating in free tourneys.  (iirc, some are 'win' and some are 'lottery')

Can't 'vampup your guy'... but you can acquire better clubs.  Be aware though, that the best driver in the game only hits for 240 and it is not very forgiving.

Great comparison, Nivlac put together I think, somewhere on these forums.. use the search feature over there ----->

    Hope this helps.

i dont think any one avg is 280+ the avg ive seen is between 220 and 240 their longest drive might be 280 mine is 272 with a 223 avg.

    No one is averaging 280.

They may have hit one 280 but their average is probably in the 225 - 235 range.  If you look at my profile I am averaging 228 but my long drive is 276.  Get a good strong wind on the right hole with a little luck you will hit the ball  far.

I hit my 276 on hole 4 of Kiawah in the masters tier, r9 driver.  I had 23 mph wind at my back, full back spin and hit it perfect.

when i finished my round, i looked at the leaderboard, left my mouse pointer on the names of the leaders, the top three guys averaged 280+

The yardages you refer to are longest drives which could have happened with a big wind or bouncing off a cart path or yardage marker.
