The cut is at 70...

  You can say that again.  You want short putts.  Some of these greens are a beast.  I am still using the Starter clubs (I did get the Taylormade 54 wedge)

  and I have been very consistently shooting a 70.  Seems like every birdie I get I follow it up with a bogey.  Hit the stick on 18 going for birdie from about 20yds and left it 3 inches.  I know I can be under par with the starter clubs.  Even though I can't make the fairway on a few holes I just punch it out and stick it close from about 150 to save par.  Scores are there but you have to stick it close and make the birdie opportunities that you get.  I think some people on here seem to think this should play like kiawah Island or something.  It's the US OPEN BABY!!!

  Finally added my par round (that was anything but par) 70 to the list.  Sorry all, it will probably be my score that moved the line down to 69...lol.  GL all!  Rich

  I just shot a 73 but messed up the last few, 15, 17, and 18.  I was -1 until I double bogied 15(3 putt, grr), and also bogied 17, and 18.

  My putting was fairly good.  I had 24 putts in the whole game, 1.33 avg.  I just can't keep my balls straight so I end up all over the place.

  what stinks is when you birdie a hole you don 't normally birdie, you then bogey a hole you normally don't bogey

  i just started off with thee birdies on 1, 2, 3 and then bogeyed the par 5! and then my whole round fell apart after my best start ever!

  I got 70.  I shot a 33 on the front and a 37 on the back 9.  The last hole I hit a horrible 2nd shot and landed in the deep rough about 35 yards from the hole.  I got it within 7 feet on my shot and made my par putt! :)

  I just missd a 4 footer for 70. The friggin meter jumped on me at the last second. The only meter jump of the game. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  Less than 48 hours to go....70 is still the cut line by 24 places.

  Will 25 new people break 70 this weekend?
