I'm wondering will Valhalla stay as a CTTH course or will it eventually become a full stroke play course like the USGA courses?

Rumour has it that we'll get it as an 18 hole course next year.

They have Bandon Dunes and Pebble Beach Golf Links in process right now, and we will get them in that order - Bandon Dunes, then PGBL.

Next is Chambers Bay, the 2015 US Open venue, that we will 1st see for CTTH on the 1st 9 holes, then CTTH using the 2nd 9 holes, and then 18 for stroke play for Virtual US Open Qualifying the end of April or first of March.

No one with WGT has said we will be getting Valhalla as an 18 hole course. WGT did announce they had entered an agreement with the PGA, but did not mention the scope of the agreement.

Alas, the CTTH came as a total surprise (to me), maybe there's more surprises?

Alas2, getting three 18s *) in 8(?) months should be enough, shouldn't it?

*) maybe only 9s for one or two?

Well, there was that thread a couple of weeks ago where shoe mentioned they were in Iceland. So maybe a little wishful thinking for a CTTH of Gleneagles around Ryder Cup time?

I'm also holding out hope that the PGA agreement gets us stroke play on Whistling Straits next July or August.

I'd gladly take it as a surprise but won't carry any hope.

Let's dust off this thread, back again.

Hope there will be the chance to see this wonderful course on full 18 just to try to sunk this closest challenge no.9 as stroke play, damn it was 4/5 seconds shot. It will going to be the first PGA "official" course partner tour so the hope is that they did screen this great link, fully.

OK, I'll be the bad guy here.... This course is contrived and unnatural.  It's difficult to be difficult.  Seems to be the course for new courses recently - "isn't playable?  who cares, it's pretty".  Dumb

I live less that 5 miles from Whistling Straights, last fall there was a helicopter spending a lot of time over the course. Was it WGT, PGA, or just Herb Kohler looking over his course? Also Kohler has plans for another course very near or on Lake Michigan.
