   All I see now is a Piston but it looks like wrong type of metal.

  Is it a cog wheel in a watch or clock , ie part of the inner mechanism ?

  Shane, you're right, it is a piston. Well done!

  I'm guessing that it has maybe a ceramic coating, that would explain why it's not aluminium coloured.

  Ty guys   yes it was a hard one was starting to get frustrated a bit like I do when having to change or fix one , been riding motorbikes for almost 40 years,   ty Scott that was fun.

   

  The  bottom right hand corner pic with the arch over the hole is what made it click in the brain.??     Con rod  popped into my head.   Wierd. Lol

  Cheers guys, was a bit of a blokey one this week, but I've learned something today.

  The picture I chose is of a 'slipper' piston. Apparently these are so called because they have much less 'skirt' to make them lighter, hence 'slipper'.  : )
