reading the hole information screen.

    Would someone be so kind as to explain the green diagram on the hole information screen.  What are the 1,2, and 3 lines trisecting the green and the numbers 20 for #1 12 for #2 and 14 for #3 mean.

    In the game, the distance to the pin is automatically calculated for you so it's not particularly useful information other then if you add them up you'll know the depth of the green. 

    In real golf, some courses will tell you what section of the green the pin is located.  Yardage markers on a real course are almost always measured to the center point of the green, but that doesn't help much when the pin is back left.  Knowing these numbers helps you add yardage to the marker in the fairway to get a better idea of the exact yardage you're supposed to hit.  If you have 150 to the center and there are 12 yards between the center third and the back fringe then you know you need 158-162 yards to get near the pin.  That can be a difference of a club sometimes.
