How is it that some players have a scoring average of 83+ and are pro's yet my average is 81 and i am still at amatuer status....

The most likely reason is that you cannot go back tiers. As soon as you pass the threshold for a tier you automatically advance into that tier. You could be a master with a 120 average and it would not put you back to pro or amateur.

Another possibility is that the person you are talking about was promoted before they moved the tier threshold ( they move them around from time to time).

Good luck and keep them straight.

I fall into that category. In my case, I was a Hack when WGT brought Beth Page Black on line. At the time I was shooting in the low 70's pretty consistently with the starter clubs. I found myself a pro ( a new tier at the time) and went up about 10 strokes. Then I upgraded my clubs and I have been trying to master them ever since.
