     I was reading this on US Open site about  # 10.   "Since 2002, the fairway has been brought back closer to the tee, so there will be no issues with carrying tee shots to the fairway." Will this be the same for the day of the Open for our layout?    thxs fuzzygazz

    Hi Fuzzy, there are no distance changes planned for BPB.

    Even it you don't make the fairway, which I never do unless I have a decent tail wind, just hit a punch with your 3 wood and it should leave you around 150 out.  Then you just have to stick it close and make the putt for par.  Not a birdie hole. :-)

    I think the 10th fairway as it's playing is the extended fairway.  You figure the average pro knocks it 268 on Tour, so that tee shot isn't as much of a problem as it was before. 

    There have also been changes to #6 since 2002, because it wasn't a continuous fairway then.  There was a patch of rough between 140 and 100 yards or so.
