  In 1977, Stephen Pile founded the Not Terribly Good Club of Great Britain for people proud of their incompetence. In 1979, he was fired as president for writing a bestseller, and the club was closed after receiving 20,000 membership applications: ‘Even as failures, we failed’.

  The book is brilliant. - highly recommend.

  New Zealand has the ability to block certain baby names if they’re considered offensive. Rejected names include Fat Boy and twins called Fish and Chips. Allowed names include Violence, twins called Benson and Hedges, and Number 16 Bus Shelter..

  At least Number 16 Bus Shelter is going to know where the fun happened..

  That is still pretty free compared to Denmark. They have two lists (one with boys names and one with girls names) to choose from. If the name isn’t on the list .

  People who reflexively sneeze if a bright light is shone in their eyes experience Autosomal Dominant Compulsive Helio-ophthalmic Outbursts syndrome, or ACHOO syndrome for short.

  I seem to remember hearing that potential Air Force pilots were tested for this and rejected if they had it.
