  • Re: WGT vs. EA Tiger Woods online

nivlac I agree with you on Madden, that's why I will stand by my all time favourite, Tecmo Super Bowl, but even as perfect a game that was it had it's flaws. We need to come to grips with the fact that this game has it's flaws and the more I read, the more I believe that they are not programmed into the game. No game is perfect. Even when

Reid, truer words have never been spoken. Your message has almost a Zen quality to it. I think this is the real reason that WGT suggests that you turn off everything else on your computer. Not because of system performance issues (although I suspect that would help if you are using something older) but moreover to eliminate the distractions. I know

This is a great discussion is it not? In the interest of going forward, I will try my best to put forth some other things I was thinking while at work (and due to corporate filters, not able to enjoy WGT...grrr). But first Lee, and tibbets, thanks for bringing up those valid points. I would like to expand on something tibbets said. When you ask "why

I think you all make some valid points, alas, golf is and always will be a "random" game. First off, let us not forget that real golf is played outdoors in ever changing conditions. Let me remind you of the discussions from the golf commentators every spring at the Masters who babble over and over again about how the wind swirls on the par

The new Tiger Woods for the Wii with the new motion plus, is as close to a simulation game I have found. Of course after a while with all the player upgrades and the 300 plus yard drives it does become rather unauthentic. However, is WGT not venturing into those same murky waters, with better clubs and better balls, etc? I mean, if you had a driver

  • Re: A warning from a voice of reason

I would be remiss if I did not say that for the longest time was looking for an on-line golf game. I had grown worn of the Tiger Woods' and Hot Shots golf variety on the various platform systems. This winter I even dug out my old NES and played the original Golf game with some friends as a change of pace kinda thing. No one, not even I could top

The Callaway Tour i is a great ball. Awesome launch off the tee and superb spin around the green.

  • Re: food for thought

Snaike you are right, I should not have inferred that most or the majority used some kind of help to post their qualifying rounds. Instead, I should have said something more like quite a few.

What changed, is copyright infringement and licensing. The green coats are much more protective now of their corporate associations. I beleive they only had 3 sponsors for this year's tournament. Now, if one of WGT's majority shareholder was a member at Augusta.....

  • Re: Cheating

Griz, you missed my point entirely. But since we are on the subject, based on my hypothesis, are you a choker or a cheater? For you see, I perhaps unlike you in the qualifying rounds, never faced the same winds twice. Of course some holes haphazardly were the same but not often. And I would suspect that somebody who has played as often as you, would
