Hole 9 at Merion is a challenging par-3 played downhill to a kidney-shaped green. Club selection is key here, with the water hazard in front and bunker to the left. Expect to see more bogeys than birdies from the field on this one.

Merion Golf Club is the host of the 2013 U.S. Open Championship, and is now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

Played correctly, Hole 8 at Merion is a good birdie opportunity, but miss the green and bogey is more likely. Choose to use anything from a fairway metal to a long iron to reach the S-shaped drive zone, but be sure to play the shorter approach shot carefully to avoid deep rough and bunkers that surround the small green. Finish strong by reading the contoured putting surface that slopes from back left to front right.

Merion Golf Club is hosting the U.S. Open Championship for the fifth time this year, and is now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

Hole 7 at Merion offers a birdie opportunity as it's a 360-yard par-4. Most players will use long irons from the tee to reach the semi-blind, angled drive zone, setting themselves up for a short approach shot. Control your tee shot or you'll face overhanging trees and out-of-bounds on the right side. The large green gives you plenty of space to land, but the three distinct levels and sharp drop-off on the left force you to keep your approach accurate.

The par-4 Hole 6 at Merion challenges you with a semi-blind tee shot to a bowl-shaped fairway. Most players will face a slightly uphill approach shot to the green with a false front, with the option to go "old school" and run their shot up onto the green. Another hole where par is a great success.

Merion Golf Club is the host of the 2013 U.S. Open Championship, and is now available to play free online on World Golf Tour (WGT).

Hole 5 at Merion could be the best driving hole on the course. This par-4 doglegs from right to left, with the fairway also sloping from right to left toward a stream that borders the left side spanning the entire length of the hole. Don't leave your approach right of the hole, or you'll face incredibly fast putts on the most severely sloped green on the course. Par this one and you're likely to pick up a full stroke (or close to) on your competition.

Hole 4 at Merion is the second par-5 on the golf course. Off the tee, players will face one of the more difficult drive zones to hit because of a significant right-to-left fairway slope. This is followed by an awkward, blind shot over the cross bunker. Most players will have to lay-up before the brook in front of the green, for a short approach shot to the green.

Hole 1 at Merion is one of golf's great opening tee shots, right next to the clubhouse patio for some extra pressure. It's a shorter dogleg right par-4, about 350 yards, but the sycamore tree on the right will discourage most big-hitters from trying to drive the green. A more conservative drive and an accurate approach shot will avoid the bunkers and could yield an opening birdie.

Harbour Town Hole 18 Preview on WGT

Harbour Town is one of America's top ranked and iconic golf courses. The Harbour Town Golf Links golf course is the host of the PGA Tour's annual RBC Heritage golf tournament and is available as a free closest-to-the-hole online game on World Golf Tour.

Hole 18 is the signature hole of Harbour Town, featuring the famous red and white lighthouse in the background. It's typically one of the toughest holes at Harbour Town for PGA players, because of the challenging drive and approach shot. PGA pro Davis Love III has won the Heritage a record five times with the last in 2003.

Hole 17 is a challenging par 3 hole at Harbour Town. The long 191-yard approach shot is to a green surrounded by water and bunkers, so you need to make your shot accurate or you'll end up in the lagoon.

Pebble Beach Hole 18 Preview

Pebble Beach is America's top-ranked and most famous golf course. The famed Pebble Beach Golf Links golf course is the most recent addition to World Golf Tour, now available as a free closest-to-the-hole online game.

The closing hole at Pebble Beach is a golfer's dream. It literally leaves you breathless, then you're faced with a daunting drive over the Pacific coast. Aim for the lone tree and don't hook it. The second shot at this par five is no easier with ocean and bunker down the left. You can bail out right or just go for it.

At age 60 and in his last U.S. Open, Jack Nicklaus went for it with an amazing 263-yard, 3-wood second shot that found the green. His difficult three-putt spoiled a magical ending, but still an inspiring shot from one of golf's greats.

WGT Hole 18 Tip - Aim and adjusting for wind are the keys to threading this shot between the bunkers.

For one day only, on TUESDAY 3/12, we're doubling the payouts for Hole-In-One Challenges on World Golf Tour.

Try your luck in closest-to-the-hole games to make a hole-in-one, or land the ball within 1 or 5 feet of the hole, and you'll earn twice as many WGT Credits as usual. Many of the holes now pay out over 100 to 1 for a hole-in-one.

Hole-In-One Challenges are available on the tee shots on any closest-to-the-hole WGT golf course, excluding Merion.

Pebble Beach Hole 17 Preview

The famous par 3 hole 17 has a small green surrounded by bunkers, and typically shots are hit straight into the breeze coming off the ocean.

On this hole in the 1982 U.S. Open, Tom Watson brilliantly holed out of the greenside rough with a sand wedge for a birdie. He went on to beat Jack Nicklaus that year for his only career U.S. Open title.

The shot on World Golf Tour is from that same rough, see if you can create your own miracle shot.
