Thought and hopes go out to the passengers, flight and cabin crew and family and friends  aboard Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370  en-route  to  Beijing.

Sadly aboard a 777-200, looks like a very bad day.

Edit: The airline are contacting next of kin, and have set up a support center - this is very grim. Something not quite right from the airline.

Cheers Lonnie, 239 on board including crew, and last radio contact with Vietnam ATC according to my reports. Trying to find out who the PIC was  as I know a few of the MAS flight crew.

Not sure and would be pure speculation at this point. The announcement from the airline was delayed - so they have known for some time the jet was missing.

The  satellites images were clear in the region and to my knowledge no mayday call was received, so would be something  catastrophic  if this was the case.

And so far as I know, unless I knew the FC, I did not know of anyone personally on board. But any loss like this hits home very hard.

    Truly sad.

It's amazing how close to home these awful accidents can hit. The boss of my school ( young lady called Vivian ) has just flown to KL from Bangkok, and is due back on Sunday night.

She won't be feeling too secure right now I bet.
