The strangest thing happened today, during many of my rounds today a little ad for Firefox kept appearing on my game screen in between shots.  Not all the shots mind you, about every half an hour or so.  I'm thinking  to myself damn  Firefox, now they are advertising their new version on my game screen.

About 3 P.M. today an ad for WGT's  Pro Shop appeared on my game screen, then it all became so clear. I can understand the ad's on the side of the game screen for obvious reasons. But the last thing I need is an ad from the Pro Shop telling me that I should pop in and see whats available or maybe pick up something for a friend.

Considering how many rounds I play I'm already in there buying balls or checking out a new wedge or whatever.   What's frustrating is they could have put it somewhere else, not in the middle of your game window.

I agree with your consternation over the Pro Shop pop-up's.  There were a lot of them today.  However, I highly doubt WGT is having trouble paying their bills.

No trouble paying bills and producing new avatars.

Big problems on giving answers for simple questions like,

I think certain ads are good for NEW people, since many just jump in without reading anything anywhere including the forum.

People that have made Master or been around for quite some time, yeah probably dont need to see those kinds of ads.

    Hi all,

We realize the meter is a source of frustration for some players and I want you guys to rest assured that steps are being taken to attempt to alleviate the problem.  Unfortunately I can't provide more technical details since I'm not working with the code myself, but please know that your complaints are not falling on deaf ears.  There is a multitude of factors that can cause this (end-user being a likely culprit in most instances), but we also know there are improvements that can and will be made over time.  As the flash platform develops further we will be able to take advantage of new features that will help to reduce the main issues that are at the root of the problem.

We are constantly working to alleviate the meter stutter and will continue to do so moving forward.  We thank you for your patience in that regard.

    Have a great weekend! =)

That would be the new and improved Shimmer, from January 10, 1976 (Season 1, Episode 9) with Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner as the couple and Chevy Chase as the spokesman. Eliot Gould was the host and Anne Murray was the musical guest. "For the greatest shine you ever tasted!" And yes, I looked it up -- I don't know it by memory.
